Jeannie Mai and her ex-husband, rapper Jeezy's post-bitter divorce battle now has accusations of harassment in the mix.
The former talk show host requested that the judge dismiss a secret subpoena filed by her ex-husband on gaining access to her bank records.
Jeannie Mai and Jeezy settled their bitter divorce battle in June, but she reawakened the case a few months later when she filed a new case claiming Jeezy should be held in contempt of court.
Jeannie Mai Screams 'Harassment' At Jeezy's Subpoena
The mom-of-one asked the court to toss the subpoena sent by her rapper ex to City National Bank, stating that the move was an attempt to harass her.
Jeannie's legal team stated in the motion that her former husband sent two separate subpoenas. The first was reportedly sent on October 22, and the second on October 28.
In the subpoena, Jeezy told the City National Bank to produce Jeannie's financial details, including personal and business bank account statements, deposit slips, and evidence of withdrawals from indicated bank accounts before November 1.
According to In Touch, the red carpet host accused Jeezy and his legal team of refusing to update her about the first one and labeled it a "secret subpoena" in her motion.
Jeannie Says Ex's Subpoena Is Unrelated To Their Ongoing Legal Squabble
Jeannie tagged the subpoenas as "oppressive, unreasonable, and not calculated to lead to the discovery of admissible evidence and requested for the purposes of annoyance, embarrassment, and oppression."
Her attorney noted that the requests in the subpoenas do not relate to "the subject matter of the current Contempt action" filed by the star.
The legal rep continued that the star has provided "numerous alternative avenues for [Jeezy] to obtain the information that he is now requesting from Ms. Mai's personal and business bank accounts from the time period of June 2024 to October of 2024." Jeannie's legal team continued that:
"Jeezy's reputation of failing to fulfill his financial requirements, both in his prior unrelated custody case, and based on the number of lawsuits that have been filed against him by his former employees and associates regarding non-payment of debts," makes it clear that his motives were to harass and intimidate Ms. Mai."
The TV Personality Accused Her Ex-Husband Of Failing To Provide For Their Daughter
The screen goddess declared that her ex had failed to pay for daycare and schooling expenses. He also reportedly failed to deposit $500,000 in an account for their daughter.
Jeannie claimed he did not complete the payment of $92,000 owed for four months in rent, failed to transfer the title to two cars, and owed $4,000 in tuition and childcare expenses.
The car in question included a 2021 Range Rover and a 2022 Ford Branco which Jeannie claimed Jeezy's delay of transfer has affected her insurance plans.
The estranged couple went their separate ways in 2023 after two years of marriage and welcoming their daughter, Monaco, whose well-being stands as the bone of contention in their divorce settlement.
The Rapper Slammed The Red Carpet Host's Misleading Petition
In his defense, Jeezy described Jeannie's claims as "blatant misrepresentations" and an "attempt to mislead and delude" the court.
The Blast reported that the rapper condemned Jeannie for releasing sensitive details about their divorce settlement, which was kept under a seal. He added that she provided four shady lease agreements without valid proof of payment "of any amount of the four versions of the lease agreements."
Jeezy also claimed that the contract for the lessor on the lease agreement was unreachable, and by the time the legitimacy was confirmed, the host had gone in search of another home.
Her search for a new property proved abortive as Jeezy's lawyer claimed that it was for sale, bringing all of the lease agreements provided by Jeannie under question.
Jeezy Declared He Was Ready To Settle His Daughter's Financial Demands
The American rapper disclosed that he eventually opened the interest-bearing account for their baby girl and dropped the $500,000 deposit for expenses. He shared that he was willing to cover Monaco's childcare costs if his ex-wife provided legitimate receipts.
Jeezy also noted that he was waiting on the DMV to finalize the paperwork for the Range Rover, but the process took longer than planned. He, however, shared that the 2022 Bronco was ready for pickup, but Jeannie failed to show up.
The rapper's lawyer described his estranged wife's behavior as "wanton, reckless, misleading and criminal." He also requested that her petition be thrown out.
Will there ever be an end to Jeannie Mai and Jeezy's legal brawl? Time will tell!
