Christine Brown's daughter, Ysabel, expressed her longing for a better relationship with her father, Kody Brown.
The "Sister Wives" star's newfound happiness with David Woolley highlights the contrasts between Kody's strained connections with his kids and Woolley's growing role in their lives.

On the latest episode of TLC's "Sister Wives," Kody and Christine's daughter candidly shared her mixed emotions about her mom moving in with her new husband.
During her heartfelt conversation with Christine, Ysabel became teary-eyed as she asked, "He won't try and replace Dad, right? For us? He can't replace dad. He's not trying to, right?"Christine reassured her, but the uncertainty lingered.
According to TooFab, Ysabel expressed her concerns in a confessional, admitting her fear of losing any chance of a meaningful relationship with her father. She contrasted Kody's relationship with his children to David's presence in his kids' lives.
"David like he comes off as like a very like present dad like with his children. I would love to have a relationship that is as amazing with my own father," she said, visibly emotional.
Although she worried that Woolley's involvement might widen the gap with Kody, Ysabel recognized her step-father's respectful intentions, adding, "he would only ever come into any situation with like everybody else in mind and only with respect to everybody else as well."

Christine made it clear to Ysabel that Woolley is stepping into their family as a supportive figure, not a replacement for her father. After the 20-year-old expressed concerns about Woolley's role, Christine tried to reassure her.
"No one's going to replace your dad, no one. If you need a dad figure or a father figure or someone like that, he'll be whatever you need," the mother-of-six explained.
In a confessional, Christine acknowledged Ysabel's longing for a closer bond with Kody, saying, "She wants a dad, big time. But she wants her dad."
The 52-year-old emphasized her ongoing hope for Ysabel to have a great relationship with Kody while reminding her that Woolley's presence simply adds "someone else to love" in their lives.
The Author Took Legal Action Against Kody Over Custody Of Truely
This development followed Christine's legal action against her ex over custody of their youngest daughter, Truely. The reality TV star filed a lawsuit on September 16, asking the court to establish paternity for Truely, as Kody's name was absent from her birth certificate.
As noted by The Blast, Christine also requested a domestic relations injunction to safeguard against harassment, domestic violence, or significant changes to parenting agreements without mutual consent or court approval.
The injunction also aimed to prevent non-routine travel without proper permission and to ensure neither party would disparage the other.

After leaving Kody in November 2021, Christine relocated with her daughter to Utah, far from Kody's home in Flagstaff, Arizona. The move sparked a heated debate, as Christine defended it as a way to protect Truely's relationship with her father.
Christine explained that by moving, she believed she could preserve the bond between the father-daughter duo while it was still strong. Despite the physical distance, she maintained that the decision was about keeping their relationship intact, even as she navigated her own separation from Kody.
This move was not without controversy, as the family's patriarch disagreed with it wholeheartedly.
Christine Brown Held Nothing Back About Kody In A Radio Interview
If you believed things were improving between Christine and Kody, think again. The TV star revealed just how far their relationship had fallen when she struggled to find anything nice to say about her ex during a radio interview.
Appearing alongside fellow "Sister Wives" star Janelle on Radio Andy, Christine was asked to share three words about her former partner. Without hesitation, she responded, "Deadbeat dad … Sorry, that's two, but that can be two. Deadbeat dad and … oblivious."
The Blast reports that her bold response took Janelle by surprise, who had described Kody as "charismatic" and tried to convince Christine to agree. But Christine, clearly still upset, refused, stating she was too angry to say anything positive about him.
