In a recent interview, John Krasinski revealed that he made the choice years ago to stop reading online comments and social media posts about himself.

According to Krasinski, the decision was motivated by a desire to prioritize his well-being, and it’s a choice he continues to stand by firmly. "I remember on 'The Office,' the computers we had [at our desks] were live, and that was the early days of like Myspace and IMDb chat rooms and stuff," he told People Magazine.

His costar Jenna Fischer"was super into it and she'd go, 'Guys, last night's episode, they loved it and blah blah, blah. And so we'd all jump on," the actor recalls. "One of my first forays down that rabbit hole, I was like, 'Oh my God, what did they say?'"

Certain comments led the actor to stop reading right away. "It was like, 'Oh dear Lord.' And I've never gone back. I've never gone back," he told the magazine. "Truly, that scared the absolute hell out of me, those chat rooms in the early days. So I can't imagine where it's gone since."

Earlier this week, John Krasinski was named PEOPLE Magazine's 2024 Sexiest Man Alive, something that the actor couldn't believe was happening.

"Just immediate blackout," he told the outlet when he learned the news. "Zero thoughts. Other than maybe I’m being punked. That’s not how I wake up usually, thinking, “Is this the day that I’ll be asked to be Sexiest Man Alive?” And yet it was the day you guys did it. You really raised the bar for me."

The actor, best known for his role in "The Office," admitted that he wasn't very good with the ladies in high school, and instead, he was "there for moral support."

It wasn't until college that he found his self-confidence. "I mean, that was the most mind-expanding experience of my life," he recalled. "No drugs necessary. I was lucky enough to go to a great school and get a great education. But the education for me really was finding these life markers of people who brought me into the world of art, theater, and music."

The couple is known for keeping their family life private, opting to shield their daughters from the spotlight as much as possible.

"Oh man, how much you learn," he said of being a girl dad. "You just have these unbelievable wells of curiosity, emotion, and questions coming from someone from the opposite sex. In an interview with PEOPLE Magazine about the announcement, the "Jack Ryan" star shared that his wife, Emily Blunt, had a hilarious reaction to him edging out some of Hollywood’s top heartthrobs for the title.

While sharing that his wife was “very excited” to see him score the coveted title, he confessed to the outlet that it probably won’t earn him any extra brownie points at home, and, instead, will make him responsible for “more household chores.”

“After this comes out, [Emily will] be like, ‘All right, that means you’re going to really earn it here at home,’” Krasinski said.
