Patrick Mahomes is not taking any chances with his family's safety following last month's shocking break-in.

Sources recently revealed the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback revamped his home's security system shortly after the burglary. It was unclear what he installed, but the new protection was a step above his previous defense setup.

Patrick Mahomes' security upgrade was needed as the burglars might be part of a larger wave of criminal activity in the area. Hours after his Belton mansion was raided, thieves invaded the home of the athlete's pal and teammate, Travis Kelce.

Sources with inside knowledge about Mahomes' situation claimed he heightened the safety measures around his home. The upgrade reportedly took place in the days after the October 6 break-in.

The incident affected Mahomes and his gated community as they increased their defense systems to ease residents' minds, per TMZ. The update about the quarterback's security upgrade came shortly after he addressed the home invasion publicly.

The Blast shared that during a press conference on Wednesday, November 13, Mahomes said: "Obviously, it's frustrating. It's disappointing. It's something you don't want to happen to anyone, but especially to yourself."

According to reports, the burglars broke into Mahomes' Belton mansion around midnight on October 6. Hours later, a similar event occurred at Travis Kelce's Kansas home. These incidents were believed to be part of a larger wave of criminal activity in the area.

Investigations into the robberies remain ongoing, with the FBI teaming up with local authorities to crack the case. So far, no arrests have been made, but authorities claimed Kelce lost $20,000 in cash following the home invasion.

Mahomes purchased his Belton, Missouri mansion in 2020 and built a luxurious estate that featured a partial football field. His home was completed last year, with the Kansas City Chiefs player raving about the property.

The Home Invasions Occurred Hours Before A Kansas City Chiefs Game

As reported by The Blast, Mahomes and Kelce's homes were raided hours before their team's match against the Saints at Arrowhead Stadium. The pair did not let the burglary affect their game, as they crushed the opposing team.

Mahomes went 28-for-39 with 331 yards and an interception, while Kelce added nine receptions for 70 yards. Another reason the duo did not let the incident bother them might be their impressive net worths.

Mahomes has reportedly amassed $182 million thanks to his NFL career and endorsement deals. Similarly, Kelce enjoyed a lucrative career as a quarterback with almost $94 million and recently signed a podcast deal worth over $100 million.

Earlier this year, Mahomes opened up about the vision for his new restaurant during a press conference at the 101 Awards ceremony in March. He stressed that the eatery was affordable, refuting speculations about pricey menus.

"I'm sure there will be some things on there that will be $15. All honesty though, we thought about that, and we don't want to make it too upscale, too high-priced that not everybody can go," Mahomes explained.

The quarterback stressed that his restaurant aimed to please the Kansas community, adding: "We're going to make it a place where hopefully Kansas City can call it home and that everybody can be there and really enjoy it."

During an interview with NFL Radio in August, Mahomes shared the power Taylor Swift had over her boyfriend, Kelce. He noted the "Bad Blood" singer achieved a task he had given up on, saying:

"You got the old man (Kelce). I've been trying to get him to grow his hair out, and all of a sudden, Taylor gets him to do it."

Despite their longtime friendship, it appeared Kelce did not take fashion advice from Mahomes. His mother echoed similar sentiments about his unique style on Martha Stewart's podcast, claiming he dressed to make people talk or laugh.

Given Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce's friendship, will the latter take a page from his friend's book and beef up his home's security?
