Kim Zolciak's estranged husband, Kroy Biermann, is looking for a way out of his financial troubles, and filing for bankruptcy might be his best option.

The former professional football player and estranged husband to Zolciak has been discussing bankruptcy options with his attorney. The update came via his legal rep, who recently filed a motion detailing a $18,100 invoice.

The lawyer claimed Kroy Biermann owed the law firm four times the amount highlighted for services rendered amid his divorce. The massive sum marked one of the numerous crushing debts the ex-athlete and Kim Zolciak owed.

Biermann's divorce lawyer, Ryan Proctor, filed documents detailing the sum he owed the law firm. The legal rep claimed he amassed a debt of $79,000 as of October 17, with the most recent invoice being a $18,100 bill.

Proctor explained the new invoice stemmed from Biermann's desire to escape his financial burdens. The attorney billed him over three hours of work to research bankruptcy options in late August.

The same applied to the work Proctor did throughout September, where he determined the pros and cons of bankruptcy for Biermann. On September 10, the pair discussed a "bankruptcy strategy" over a call.

Besides his work on bankruptcy options, Proctor billed Biermann for asking him to watch Zolciak's "Surreal Life" show. His estranged wife appeared on MTV's reality TV program earlier this year, where she lived with other celebrities under one roof.

Although she bonded with Tom Hanks' son Chet Hanks during the show, her possible romance wasn't the reason for Biermann's request. Proctor stated his client asked him to note if Zolciak mentioned their divorce or disparaged him.

Biermann and Zolciak tied the knot in 2011 and welcomed four children together. The former NFL player also adopted his estranged wife's two daughters from a previous relationship before their marriage turned sour in 2023.

Since their divorce filings, Biermann and Zolciak have been throwing accusations against each other. The "Real Housewives of Atlanta" alum accused her estranged beau of smoking marijuana while he slammed her for having a gambling problem.

However, their differences paled in comparison to the mounting debts before them. Last month, The Blast reported that Biermann and Zolciak's 15,694 square-foot Georgia mansion was hit with a five-figure lien.

The Manor Community Association filed the lien against the seven-bedroom, 11-bathroom property over unpaid dues. They claimed the estranged couple owed $8,972 in unpaid assessments and late fees.

A year before the five-figure lien against their home, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) slapped Biermann and Zolciak with a massive tax lien. They claimed the duo owed taxes for 2013, 2017, and 2018, amassing $1.1 million in debt.

Besides the IRS, the pair's financial woes continued with accusations of owing $15,000 in unpaid taxes to the state of Georgia. The list of creditors breathing down their necks increased with Truist Bank's attempt to auction off the Georgia mansion.

In October 2023, Biermann and Zolciak filed a lawsuit to stop the scheduled foreclosure auction. They pushed to sell their home by themselves, stressing that the proceeds from the sale would help their dire financial situation.

In October, The Blast shared that the issues between Biermann and Zolciak had increased with an invasion of privacy claim. The former Bravolebrity accused her estranged husband of spying on her within their home.

She backed her claims with photo evidence of Biermann passed out in her closet after surveilling her. She alleged he frequently invaded her private space whenever she wasn't at home and even removed her security systems.

Sources claimed Zolciak installed the security cameras to stop Biermann from spying on her, but he took everything out. In her motion, the "RHOA" alum stressed that his actions were a blatant disregard of the judge's order about their living situation.

The judge had ordered Zolciak to stay in the basement of their home while Biermann got to keep the master bedroom. Insiders noted she wasn't trying to evict her estranged husband from their home with her motion but to stop his surveillance and obtain her missing belongings.
