Light, cameras, no action! Rachel Lindsay has learned her lesson about finding romantic connections on television!
The "Bachelorette" star is ready to leave the life of looking for love on dating shows after an unhappy outcome of a seemingly perfect pairing on the show where she snatched a live partner.
Rachel Lindsay recently divorced her husband, Bryan Abasolo, who she met and got engaged to on the 13th season of the famous dating reality show in 2017.
Rachel Lindsay Is Enjoying Her Newly Single Life And Focusing On The Fun Times Only
The former ABC star shared important life updates when she was sighted outside of Erewhon in Los Angeles on Monday especially amid her split from Abasolo.
Lindsay noted that she is currently savoring her great single life and is laser-focused on getting all the fun out of her experience as a newly single woman. She also noted that her DMs on social media have witnessed a suitor drought, so there is not so much meeting new people to do.
On a likely return to the glitz and glam of television to find love since social media is not forthcoming, Lindsay stated that she had zero interest in returning and learned a hard lesson from her experience on the show.
TMZ reported that she also threw shade at her ex, declaring, "Fool me once," and added that she wants to find love "organically" as she moves on with her life.
Lindsay's Divorce Terms Had Her Doling Out Tens Of Thousands In Spousal Support
Lindsay's lessons seemingly came with Abasolo's exorbitant demands during their divorce settlement, where he stated that he needed $16,275 in spousal support to help with his financial expenses.
Abasolo first opted out of the marriage when he filed for divorce from the ABC star after 4 years of marriage in January. The Blast shared that the attorney is now paying her chiropractor ex-husband $13,000 in spousal support, which is about $3k away from his initial request.
In addition to his financial assistance request, he also demanded half of their family residence, which he claimed was their community asset. The chiropractor noted that Lindsay earned handsomely from her business as a successful podcaster and author.
He added that despite her financial status, she used the money from their community property to settle her legal fees and costs while blocking him out of access to the same treasury to clear his legal bills and personal expenses.
Abasolo accused the star of refusing to acknowledge his stake in the asset, which includes a family home in North Hollywood, despite being legally eligible for an equal half. In his words:
"I believe that the majority, if not all, of the $466,000 down payment on our Family Residence came from community property earned during our marriage."
Bryan Abasolo Declared Their Decision To Move During The Marriage Affected His Finances
Abasolo justified his demands for spousal support and legal fee payment with the claim that he was forced to put his career on hold multiple times during his 4-year marriage to the author.
He revealed that those decisions were taken because he and Lindsay had to move twice to different places, which affected his finances as he could not immediately get back to work in those new environments.
Abasolo added that Lindsay did not suffer the same as him during the moves as she experienced a thriving career as a successful media personality and amassed income from her businesses, including the "Higher Learning" podcast and books like "Real Love" and "Miss Me with That."
He declared his intention to vacate their family residence at that time but blamed lack of funds as the stumbling block. Abasolo demanded $50,000 in attorney settlement fees and $25,000 in forensic accountant's fees.
Abasolo Admitted Their Decision To Go Their Separate Ways Was A Tough One
In the wake of their split becoming public information, the chiropractor released a statement admitting that they have painfully decided to part ways. He wrote:
"If you've been following me for a while, you know I don't like to put my personal affairs on social media and like to keep a safe space for our family. Many of you know me as a chiropractor and husband, my proudest role so far. After more than 4 years of marriage, Rachel and I have made the difficult decision to part ways and start anew."
The reality star noted that his parents' love story influenced his idea of marriage, but his reality was different, and he realized he needed to love himself more.
Abasolo concluded his statement by sharing that he wanted his fans to hear the truth directly from the source before "blogs start making up their own reality," as he asked the public to "respect the spaces of our family and friends as we figure out our next steps. Respectfully, Bryan."
Rachel Lindsay And Bryan Abasolo Listed The Date Of Separation As December 31, 2023
The news of their divorce shook the reality TV world when The Blast reported it in January, but the union had ended before then, as the couple decided not to enter the new year as an item.
Abasolo and Lindsay's divorce news came after the attorney claimed they were working to protect their marriage by keeping tight lips about their affairs. In her words:
"We don't put ourselves out there at all [except] maybe an anniversary or a holiday [post here and there]. But I think I did that because people were so critical of us when we came off the show."
Rachel Lindsay is totally navigating her new normal with grace!
