Brittany Cartwright Says Hooking Up With Jax Taylor's Friend Was Not Planned: 'Why Should I Care?'

Brittany Cartwright is making it clear that her hookup with one of Jax Taylor's friends was anything but a calculated move. 

This bold stance comes just months after unveiling her stunning body transformation, which she reportedly had planned well before filing for divorce from Taylor. 

Brittany Cartwright's newfound confidence seems to be fueling her candid attitude as she navigates her single life, showing she is ready to embrace a fresh chapter.

Cartwright is opening up about her unexpected fling with Julian Sensley, a friend of her ex, and why she has zero regrets. Speaking with Bravo's executive producer Alex Baskin, Cartwright clarified, "We did not have a 'no dating in the friend group' policy," adding:

"I wasn't trying to go after one of his friends. That's not how it happened." 

Cartwright revealed she was motivated, in part, by lingering resentment toward Taylor for years of mistreatment. During her chat with Baskin on the network's "Hot Mic" podcast, the 35-year-old went into detail about her decision to pursue Sensley, saying:

"I was just so mad at Jax. I didn't care if I hurt his feelings like that. Why should I care?" 

She also described Sensley as someone she "always thought was so hot" and admitted she felt no guilt given Taylor's past behavior. Referring to his infamous affair with Faith Stowers, Cartwright concluded, "Jax has no legs to stand on. He hooked up with my friend; let's all remember that."

Although she is speaking about it now, Page Six exclusively broke the news last month about Cartwright's hookup with Taylor's friend. The media outlet revealed that the mother-of-one and Sensley had a "casual" fling shortly after the breakup announcement in February.

Cartwright and the 42-year-old only met up privately, with their short-lived romance over by the time it was revealed. Though the affair was brief, the reality TV star's choice of partner, given his connection to Taylor, has continued to spark buzz.

Sources claim the former basketballer was in an "off and on" relationship with his now-fiancée at the time and going through a rough patch, which coincided with his connection with Cartwright.

Taylor reportedly "went berserk" after learning about his estranged wife's brief fling with his friend—a revelation that pushed him toward seeking mental health treatment. 

Sensley, previously linked to "Vanderpump Rules" star Lala Kent, was involved with Cartwright in what Taylor hinted was a months-long romance. In a since-deleted social media post in June, the 45-year-old hinted at the fling, writing:

"You may want to ask Brittany who she's been sleeping with for the past 4 months…."

Shortly after, Taylor entered an inpatient mental health facility to address "serious anger issues," saying he wanted to improve for their son, Cruz.

Page Six reports that fans of Cartwright and Taylor can expect the drama to continue unfolding in Season 2 of "The Valley," where this rocky chapter in their relationship will take center stage.

Although the fling was unplanned, Cartwright's post-split glow-up was anything but. Her transformation in May laid the groundwork for her bold moves in September.

In a two-hour AirSculpt session, the TV personality treated herself to a confidence-boosting transformation, setting the stage for her post-breakup glow-up. As reported by The Blast, Cartwright embraced the cosmetic procedure to get her "sparkle back" after a tough year. 

Describing her makeover as her "revenge body," she noted, "I wanted to look good after everything I've been through this year. I want to look my very best."

The AirSculpt treatment, which tightens skin and removes fat, focused on her stomach area, an area she felt needed contouring after giving birth to her son, Cruz. "Now, I am smaller, and I feel great about it," Cartwright shared, proud of her post-surgery results. 

As part of her empowering moves after their split, Cartwright did not hold back when it came to sending a bold message of independence—and a touch of shade to Taylor.

Teaming up with Bellesa Boutique, the star shared a cheeky Instagram post promoting vibrators, flaunting her confidence and hinting at her new "self-love" journey.

The post was both playful and empowering, featuring Cartwright holding a range of self-care toys with the caption, "POV: in my self-love era." She highlighted her strength, saying:

"I've always done everything on my own, so I'm not going to stop now."

Cartwright even encouraged her followers to enter a giveaway, adding, "Sexual wellness is an essential part of self-love, and every woman (and every single mom!) deserves to feel that."
