It's a girl for AEW stars Cody Rhodes and his wife Brandi.
The wrestling couple announced Brandi's pregnancy in December 2020 during an episode of Dynamite.
Much like their pregnancy announcement, Cody and Brandi decided to share the gender reveal on Dynamite.
In a video message, Brandi said she knew the baby's gender, but was keeping it a secret from Cody.
Minutes later, the couple came out to the ramp for the big moment. Pink pyro shot out and the titantron lit up with the words "it's a girl."
Cody And Brandi's Love Story
Brandi and Cody's love story began when they were both working for WWE.
As the son of the legendary Dusty Rhodes and younger brother of Dustin Rhodes, Cody looked to carry on the family legacy.
As for Brandi, she started off training as a wrestler before she was moved to her new role as ring announcer.
The couple married in September 2013.
In 2016, Cody and Brandi left WWE and embarked on a career on the indie circuit. They worked for various promotions such as Ring of Honor, Impact Wrestling, and New Japan.
Brandi would serve as her husband's valet, although she would step into the ring for an occasional match.
In 2019, the couple joined the newly created AEW promotion, where they're onscreen talent and also the company's EVPs.
Wrestling Baby Boom
Cody and Brandi are just a few of the couples part of the wrestling baby boom.
Their AEW co-worker Jon Moxley is expecting a baby girl with his wife Renee Paquette, who is due in June.
In December, WWE stars Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch welcomed a baby girl named Roux.
On February 9th, WWE couple Raymond and Sarah Rowe announced the birth of their son Raymond Cash.
Most recently, it was announced that WWE Diva Lacey Evans was expecting her second child, and her pregnancy was to be written into the current storyline with Ric Flair.
Brandi Staying Off Television
With a baby girl on the way, Brandi is taking it easy as she prepares for her daughter's arrival.
Aside from last night's gender reveal, Brandi is trying to stay off AEW television during her pregnancy.
During an interview on "Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette," Brandi explained she saw no use in staying on television if there was nothing to do.
Prior to her pregnancy announcement, Brandi was in the midst of a feud with Jade Cargill.
The rivalry with Jade was to end with a mixed tag match between her and Cody versus Jade and NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal.
Cody Vs. Shaq
The storyline with Cody versus Shaq is continuing on.
With Brandi unable to compete, Red Velvet has stepped in to be Cody's tag partner.
The mixed tag match with Shaq and Jade Cargill will take place live on the March 3rd edition of AEW Dynamite.
This is going to be one of AEW's most high-profile matches in history.
With the absence of Shaq; Cody, Jade, and Red Velvet had done a good job of keeping the feud going.
With tensions running high and a lot of bragging rights at stake, there's no telling who will walk out the winner in two weeks.
