Kristin Chenoweth has shared her perspective on the sex trafficking allegations against Sean "Diddy" Combs.
The Tony Award winner described the allegations as "really bad," adding that she's still praying for the Bad Boy founder as she promised a while back.
Earlier, Kristin Chenoweth expressed shock over a viral video showing Diddy hitting his ex, Cassandra "Cassie" Ventura, and called the music mogul "sick."
Kristin Chenoweth Is 'Still Praying' For Bad Boy Records Founder Diddy
Broadway legend Chenoweth has revealed that she is still praying for Diddy amid his ongoing legal troubles.
The 56-year-old had earlier expressed that she would be keeping the music mogul in her prayers after watching a viral video of him allegedly assaulting his ex, Cassandra Ventura, in a hotel hallway.
Months after the video circulated, Diddy was indicted and arrested on charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution. He is now being held in a federal facility in New York ahead of his trial in May 2025.
Despite these serious charges against Diddy, Chenoweth shared with TMZ that her stance hasn't changed and that she's "still praying" for the rapper.
However, the actress did acknowledge that the allegations against Diddy were "really bad" but didn't disclose whether she believed he was guilty.
Kristin Chenoweth Previously Addressed Viral Video Of Diddy Assaulting His Ex
Back in May, Chenoweth had expressed that she found Diddy's actions in the assault video "heartbreaking" while making a series of tweets to address the clip.
"Honestly, I have my reasons for the Sean Combs video bothering me so much. The main thing I need to do is pray for him. For real," she said in one of the tweets, per the Daily Mail.
Unsurprisingly, quite a number of people disagreed with Chenoweth with regard to her perspective. Still, the actress stood her ground on the issue and also revealed she won't be taking down her tweet.
"I can't delete it," Chenoweth said in a subsequent post. "Believe me, I was sick when I saw it and so thankful she was ok. He is NOT. He is ill. Sick. Only God can forgive him. So forgive me, but that's how I think. And pray. Xo."
Kristin Chenoweth Once Revealed She Was 'Severely Abused'
At the time, Chenoweth said that watching the Diddy video brought back flashbacks of a past assault by someone whom she chose to withhold his identity.
"Never wanted to come out with it, but here we go," she remarked, per the Daily Mail. "Several years ago, I was severely abused. It took me therapy and prayer to understand I deserved better."
The incident left the actress "deeply injured physically and spiritually," and she claimed that her only solace was found in prayer.
Chenoweth continued, "The only thing I knew to do when I got out was pray. Pray for myself. Pray for him as he grew up abused. So. There y'all go."
She added that the abuse brought her to "the lowest point" of her life and admitted that she still holds a grudge against the perpetrator.
"I must admit I haven't forgiven yet. It's beyond me. God is helping me through that part," the "Wicked" star wrote.
Diddy's Lawyer Recently Made A Fourth Attempt For Rapper's Bail
Since Diddy's arrest in September, his bail has been denied three times, partly due to concerns about him being a flight risk and potential witness intimidation.
However, his lawyers have yet to give up on securing his freedom before the trial and recently made a fourth attempt to get bail.
In a filing, they argued that similar cases, such as Diddy's, have involved defendants being granted bail, and there was no reason his case should be treated any differently.
The Rapper's Legal Team's Bail Proposal Includes $50M Bond
Diddy's legal team also proposed a bail package similar to those previously offered in the rapper's other bail attempts.
This package includes a $50 million bond and more restrictions on the rapper's movements to prevent him from fleeing or obstructing the case as feared by the federal prosecutors.
A decision on this bail attempt has yet to be made, but given the precedent set by the other denials, it is likely to be rejected.
