Diddy Reportedly Takes A Third Stab At Bail Citing A 'Thin' Case By Prosecutors

Diddy's lawyers aren't giving up on their attempts to get him out on bail before his 2025 trial.
The incarcerated music mogul recently argued that in light of new evidence and a renewed bail package, he should be released from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
Diddy's legal reps stressed that he could not efficiently prepare for his upcoming trial in the detention facility, statements they have echoed in the past. However, two federal judges have denied the rapper's bail offers.
Diddy's Defense Claims There's Evidence Of Consensual Relationship
According to the obtained document from the Bad Boy Records founder's team, his lawyers filed another motion for bail on November 8. In the filing, Diddy's attorneys argued for his immediate release based on new evidence that showed the government had a "thin" case.
They based their claims on a March 2016 video referenced in the rapper's indictment. The footage seemingly captured Diddy violently assaulting a woman in a Los Angeles hotel. However, his legal reps argued:
"The video is not evidence of a coerced 'freak off,' but rather a minutes-long glimpse into a complex but decade-long consensual relationship between Mr. Combs and Victim 1."
Diddy's indictment focused on these "freak offs," which prosecutors alleged saw women being forced or coerced into participating with male sex workers. But the bail motion obtained by The Blast claimed the opposite had occurred with the alleged Victim 1.
Diddy's Attorneys Double Down On False Allegations
According to Diddy's lawyers, the first mention of any sex trafficking or unwanted sexual contact involving the alleged victim 1 was in November 2023. However, this allegation occurred five years after the couple's 2018 breakup.
"The evidence shows these allegations were merely attempts to obtain a financial windfall from Mr. Combs," his reps claimed. Diddy's attorneys also argued that MDC Brooklyn was not a suitable detention facility for the rapper.
"Keeping Mr. Combs detained under the extraordinary circumstances here would leave him unconstitutionally "handicapped in consulting counsel, searching for evidence and witnesses, and preparing [his] defense," they claimed.
The Music Mogul's Lawyers Ask For Bail With A Better Offer
Apart from their consensual relationship and poor detention facility arguments, Diddy's lawyers tried to push for bail with a "far more robust" proposal. They offered home detention with around-the-clock security monitoring and "near-total restrictions" on outside contacts.
The entertainer's team argued that the updated proposal "surpasses a bail package recently requested by the government in a comparable case in a neighboring district."
They believed their offer would also "reasonably assure the appearance of [Mr. Combs] as required and the safety of any other person and the community."
Diddy's team initially proposed a $50 million bail package with stringent conditions, but his offer was denied. The Blast reported that his legal reps fought back against his bail denial, noting their offer eliminated prosecutors' concerns over flight risk or witness tampering.
The record producer's lawyers claimed he posed no risk of fleeing the country and slammed prosecutors' arguments of possible witness tampering if he was released. Diddy even argued to ban all female visitors, excluding family, to ease their worries.
The Rapper Offered To Sell His Private Jets
In his desperate attempts to change the court's mind, Diddy offered to sell his private jets and even submit to weekly drug tests as part of his bail conditions. Unfortunately, the judges sided with prosecutors and deemed him too dangerous to be released.
As stated, Diddy's downfall began in September following his arrest and indictment on three criminal charges. He was taken into custody at the Park Hyatt hotel in Midtown Manhattan six months after his Miami and Los Angeles homes were raided.
Since his arrest, Diddy has maintained his innocence and denied all the charges against him. His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, echoed similar sentiments, describing his client as "an innocent man with nothing to hide."
Diddy's Beverly Hills Mansion Struggles To Find Buyer Due To 'Ick Factor'
While Diddy remains behind bars, his efforts to sell his Beverly Hills Mansion have been unsuccessful because of his ongoing legal drama. The Blast shared that the luxurious property did not attract buyers over an "ick factor."
Sources with inside knowledge claimed "only a few" potential buyers have checked out the home or shown interest in the property. A married couple allegedly visited the mansion, but the woman was "creeped out" and couldn't wait to leave.
Another reason the home failed to attract buyers was because it was one of the homes raided by Homeland Security earlier this year amid investigations into Diddy's sex trafficking case. Additionally, the $61.5 million price tag was too high for interested parties.
Will the third time be the charm for Diddy?
