Teresa Giudice may have made the decision to end her 20-year marriage to ex-husband Joe Giudice at the end of 2019 but when it comes to their relationship today, the "Real Housewives of New Jersey" cast mate and her former spouse are in a great place.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight on February 17, Giudice looked back on what led her to divorce.

"I wasn't going to just take my kids and move to Italy," she explained. "They grew up here. They want to be here."

According to Giudice, she would have considered moving her family to Italy if her daughters, including Gia, 20, Gabriella, 17, Milania, 15, and Audriana, 12, wanted to do so. However, they don't want to leave their lives in the United States and have no idea how to speak Italian.

"You never know, if my daughters said, move to Italy, then maybe I would've done that. But my kids did not want to move. They don't even speak the language. They had been through so much already," Giudice explained.

While many have slammed Giudice for failing to honor her vows to Joe, she explained to Entertainment Tonight that "no one should say anything" to her until they fully understand what she went through during the years both she and Joe spent time behind bars.

"We both put our daughters first, we really do," she continued, noting that her divorce from Joe was easy because they didn't fight over trivial issues.

"Joe is the father of my daughters, he's an amazing father [and] he's in my life," she shared.

Although Giudice spent time behind bars due to charges of bank and wire fraud that many believe he was to blame for, Giudice said she holds no ill will.

"He did the right thing by me. Everything that happened to me, he didn't mean for it to happen to me. He really didn't. He didn't want any of this to happen. But yeah, the divorce, the easiest divorce in the whole universe," she stated. "I definitely recommend anybody getting a divorce, think about your kids, and [how that] person is going to be in your life the rest of your life."

"So, try to just take it easy. Don't spend that money on lawyers. Try to split up everything with each other and take it easy!" Giudice advised.

Following their 2019 split, Giudice moved on with her current boyfriend Luis Ruelas, and Joe began dating a woman named Daniela, who he recently honored in a Valentine's Day tribute.
