Halle Baileyis singing a new tune after pouring out her anger on social media and criticizing her ex-boyfriend's actions.
Halo's doting mother got a little overprotective after her ex, DDG, took their son on a livestream without her consent. "The Little Mermaid" actress has since done a 180 from slamming her former beau to showing understanding.
Halle Bailey and DDG announced their breakup in October after two years together. The pair welcomed son Halo in 2023 and seemed to be couple goals, staying united amid the rapper's cheating scandal.
Halle Bailey Says Her Son Is Safe With DDG
Following her since-deleted tweets about DDG, Bailey recently updated her X page with a new narrative. Although she did not apologize, she showed a glimmer of remorse for criticizing her ex publicly.
"Yesterday, maybe I did overreact and shouldn't have brought it here. I know that Halo is always safe with his dad. I just don't like finding out with the rest of the world what my baby is doing," Bailey wrote.
She thanked streamer Kai Cenat for giving Halo gifts during the live baby shower he held on his channel. Bailey's words sparked supportive comments from fans, with many assuring her that her deleted posts were valid.
"You have every damn right to be mad. You both should have agreed to it, not just one," someone declared. Another X user agreed, writing, "You had EVERY right to feel how you feel considering the fact that you are a new mom."
A third echoed similar sentiments, noting, "You did not overreact in the absolute slightest. Everybody in your replies trying to police how YOU as a mother should feel about YOUR OWN child were overreacting. F-CK them."

The drama between Bailey and DDG began after he took their son on a livestream without her consent. The Blast shared that Cenat hosted a baby shower in Halo's honor, with the streamer and fans marveling at the former couple's adorable son.
"This is the most calm baby. How y'all got him so chill?" Cenat wondered. Although he showered Halo with plenty of attention during the stream, Bailey did not share his enthusiasm in her since-deleted comment on X.
"Hi, everyone. Just so you know, I am out of town, and I don't approve of my baby in front of millions of people. I wasn't told or notified, and I am extremely upset to have my baby in front of millions of people," she stressed, adding:
"I am his mother and protector, and saddened that I wasn't notified, especially when I am out of town."
Bailey Reveals She's Suffering From Postpartum Depression

Another reason why Bailey was upset with DDG for making their son an online spectacle without her consent was postpartum depression. She noted that not being informed of Halo's appearance on the stream placed her in a difficult position as a mother.
"As a woman experiencing severe postpartum, there are boundaries that I wish to be respected. Nobody knows what someone is going through until they snap," Bailey explained in a separate tweet, which has also been deleted.
Bailey and DDG's falling out was a rare occurrence, given their united bond while dating. In 2023, the pair showed complete trust in each other when the rapper was embroiled in cheating speculations.
At the time, DDG was accused of being unfaithful to Bailey with his ex, Rubi Rose. The latter fueled the speculations in February 2023 by claiming the rapper had given the Disney actress one of her old shirts.
However, DDG and Bailey shut down the cheating rumors with a united front. "The devil is working, lol," the mother of one tweeted, imploring fans not to trust third-party sources for news about her relationship.

The Blast covered Bailey and DDG's breakup in October, with the rapper announcing the end of their two-year romance on his Instagram Story. He implied their split was a joint decision, writing:
"Dear friends and supporters, After much reflection and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways. This decision was not easy, but we believe it's the best path forward for both of us."
"I cherish the time we've spent together and the love we've shared. Despite the changes in our relationship, our love for each other remains deep and true. We are still best friends and adore each other," DDG continued, adding:
"As we focus on our individual journeys and our roles as co-parents, we cherish the bond we've built and the beautiful moments we've shared."
Halle Bailey Once Called DDG A Prince Charming
A year before their relationship ended, Bailey was head over heels for DDG. During an interview, she was asked if she would describe her then-lover as a real prince charming, and she said: "Yeah. I would say that."
Bailey also reflected on their romance, noting: "I think the best thing about young love is that you're able to continue to find yourself through this journey of loving somebody else."
"And you're discovering new parts of yourself and maybe things that you didn't notice before about your heart," she added. Bailey echoed similar sentiments in a different interview, claiming DDG was her "first deep love."
Will Halle Bailey and DDG be able to co-parent amicably, or are they in for more disputes?
