The late singer Prince's sister Tyka Nelson battled a series of health crises before succumbing to death.

The pop icon's sister reportedly called emergency services over to her house multiple times in months and days, leading to her painful demise.

Tyka Nelson died on November 4 and called for emergency medical assistance on November 1, just three days before her death.

Tyka Nelson Dealt With Significant Health And Heart Issues Before Her Death

The 64-year-old, according to records from emergency call logs, called EMTs to her abode at least six times starting from September this year until she took her last breath this month.

Although her name did not appear on every call sheet, some of the calls were made by Tyka or people on her behalf, with the most recent being November 1. She reportedly battled with life-threatening health and heart issues, bleeding in the GI tract, and pain from infection.

Tyka was rushed from her Minneapolis home to North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, on September 14, and the panic calls reportedly increased exponentially as her death drew closer.

Inside sources have confirmed to TMZ that Tyka suffered from a series of health issues, although the coronas office has yet to officially release the cause of her death.

Prince's Sister Canceled Her Retirement Concert Due To Health Issues

The late singer who died eight years after her famous brother passed away, canceled a concert organized to celebrate her retirement in June. The Blast shared that Tyka was forced to scrap the Dakota concert where she had planned to host and perform due to a health scare.

"I'm getting older. I really wasn't a singer. I'm a writer. I just happen to be able to sing. I enjoy singing," she stated before deciding to cancel the show. Tyka had a long career in the music industry, releasing four albums between 1988 and 2011. 

The singer's last performance was in 2008 in the Twin Cities at Bunkers, while she last performed publicly in 2018 in Australia.

Tyka Had A Tense Relationship With Her Famous Brother

The late singer's half-sister, Sharon Nelson, described her as an independent figure who had her own mind and noted that they did not enjoy a cordial sibling relationship till their brother passed away in 2016.

Sharon reportedly lived on the East Coast for 50 years and did not get to know her late half-sister until she moved back to the Twin Cities.

Tyka also shared a complicated relationship with Prince from childhood until early in his astonishing career as a pop artist. She reminisced on growing up together with Prince in an interview in 2003, noting: 

"I was the overweight kid who didn't have a boyfriend. I listened to other people say, 'You're ugly, you're fat, you're stupid,' and I believed it. My brother, he just thought I was crazy."

Tyka noted that she had a love for the "Purple Rain" singer but declared that she would not allow him spin her "in and out of his life" at that time.

Tyka Struggled With Addiction And Prostitution

Tyka reflected on her dark past involving addiction to crack and selling her body for money in order to fend for her children in the 2003 interview. The late singer is a proud mom to six children, including her son, President Nelson, who announced her death.

"I was a single mother, and my boys were babies. I sold my body for food, money, and pampers. I pawned the car Prince had given me and sold the kids' TV for drugs," stated the "Rock or Roll" singer.

Tyka disclosed that her late brother brushed their strained relationship aside to help her get the necessary treatment by registering her in a rehab program and helping her return to music in 2008 when she became sober.

Tyka Nelson And Prince Nelson's Father Divorced Their Mother In 1966 

The late siblings were the product of the marriage between John L. Nelson and Mattie Shaw. John had already fathered five kids from a previous relationship before tying the knot with Mattie.

The pair, however, parted ways in 1966 when Prince was eight and Tyka was 6. Mattie then went on to remarry and gave birth to more half-siblings, including Omarr Baker and Alfred Jackson.

Tyka and Prince's half-sister, Lorna L. Nelson, died in 2006 at 63, and their half-brother, Duane Nelson, died in 2011 at 52.

Tyka Nelson and her late brother, Prince, are now reunited. RIP!
