Jennifer Lopez is already relishing the joy of the holiday season despite the heartache surrounding her divorce from Ben Affleck.
As Christmas approaches, the singer opened up about her plans for the festive period, disclosing that she'll be spending it with her family and would seemingly indulge in a lot of reality TV.
Jennifer Lopez also shared her hopes for the new year, saying she plans to maintain a sense of balance and grow.
Jennifer Lopez Shares Holiday Plans
According to People Magazine, Lopez acknowledged that the holiday season is the busiest period of the year but shared that this time, she'll try to keep her "routine consistent" and indulge in a little bit of self "pampering."
Amid her divorce from estranged husband Ben Affleck, the "Atlas" actress told the news outlet that she particularly looks forward to the festive period as it affords her the opportunity to "relax and have fun and create new memories" with her family.
"It was a pretty intense year for me and I'm most looking forward to spending time with my kids and my family coming out from the East Coast," she shared. "The holidays are such a special time for us and they've always been since I was a little girl. And I really look forward to those moments when I can be with my sisters and just relax and have fun and create new memories."
Lopez noted that the holidays afford her the chance to "slow down" and "enjoy" being with her loved ones.
"We don't get to see each other all year, so we kind of catch up on what everybody's doing and how life is. It's just a beautiful time. I really enjoy it," she noted.
Jennifer Lopez's Plans Include A Lot Of Selfcare
In her chat with People, the "Hustlers" actress emphasized that she'll be making time for her skincare and health routine.
For her wellness regimen, she said it means "sticking to my skincare even when I'm tired, making time for working out so I can stay energized, and finding moments to relax and recharge, whether it's through a little affirmation or a little mindful breathing meditation for a couple of minutes in the morning."
According to the news outlet, Lopez also said she'll make time for a little "pampering" and indulge in reality TV.
"Once the kids have gone to bed, I'm like, okay, my time. Put my face mask on. Watch The Great British Baking Show or whatever's on," she said of her "quiet evenings" in.
Lopez is also anticipating the food and merriment the season brings.
"I love all of the decorations and the hot chocolate and the music and the food, and I'm one of those people who really tries to make it out of a storybook for my kids with all of those things. I'm a sucker for the holidays," she shared.
The Singer Is Looking Forward To The New Year
On her plans for the new year, the "Ain't Your Mama" singer hopes to maintain balance and grow after a seemingly tough year, especially with the failure of her marriage.
"I think a lot of it is about a deeper connection to myself and to God," she said, continuing, "making sure we're checking with ourselves so we can be great for everybody that we love around us."
She added, "I'm also setting my sights on pushing my boundaries creatively and seeing where that takes me, whether that's through acting or music or producing or expanding JLo Beauty. I want to continue challenging myself to evolve and to try new things while all the while being true to who I am and those that I love."
Jennifer Lopez Doesn't Regret Affleck's Divorce
The singer's marriage to Affleck crashed following months of speculations that they'd ended their union. Jennifer filed for divorce from the "Argo" actor on August 20, the second anniversary of their Georgia wedding ceremony.
She recently sat down for an Interview Magazine conversation with Nikki Glaser, where she was asked if she had any regrets over her split from Affleck.
"Not one second," Lopez said. "That doesn't mean it didn't almost take me out for good. It almost did. But now, on the other side of it, I think to myself, 'F-ck, that is exactly what I needed. Thank you, God. I'm sorry it took me so long. I'm sorry that you had to do this to me so many times."
Speaking on how she has weathered this trying phase, she said, "I think my whole life I've just been trying to say I'm good enough until where I am now when I know."
"I'm giving myself credit. I'm telling that little girl that grew up in the Bronx, 'You've done really good for yourself.' I didn't do that for so many years," she continued. "And now I think, with everything that's happened in my life and in my relationships and even in my career, it's like, give yourself a bit of comfort and love."
She Ended An Autograph Signing Over A Diddy Question
Besides her marital woes, Lopez has also been plagued by controversy due to her past relationship with rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs, who has been arrested after a grand jury indictment and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
The "Monster-in-Law" star was recently in the process of signing autographs for fans when she was asked questions about Diddy, which forced her to end the signing and leave abruptly.
According to the Daily Mail, a fan walked up to her and asked, "JLo, do you have any comments about Diddy and the allegations?"
It was then she reportedly stopped signing the autograph and stormed out the door even though other fans pleaded, "Don't leave."
