Travis Kelce Addresses Jason Kelce Controversy On 'New Heights'
Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce stepped in with his perspective, sharing empathy for his brother but suggesting that the situation has been blown out of proportion.
"I know it's weighing on you, brother, that sh-t sucks," Travis said on their podcast. "You shouldn't feel this much, obviously the scrutiny and the media view on it and everybody passing around the videos that are being out there."
"That's gonna make it a bigger situation than, I think, what it really is," the Chiefs player continued. "But, the real situation is you had some f-cking clown come up to you and talk about your family and you reacted in a way that was defending your family. And, you might have used some words that you regret using. And, that's a situation that where you just kinda have to learn from and own."
Travis added that he believes Jason’s response to the backlash demonstrates his authenticity to people worldwide. Despite what the video captures, Travis emphasized that Jason’s actions, in the moment, don’t represent who he truly is as a person.

While personally, I didn't think Jason Kelce needed to apologize... this was a powerful way to address it, "chose to greet hate with hate. (And that was wrong)"

Two days before releasing their latest "New Heights" podcast, Jason Kelce spoke out about the recent altercation during ESPN’s "Monday Night Countdown," expressing his disappointment over the incident.
“I’m not happy with anything that took place,” Jason admitted during the show’s opening segment. I’m not proud of it."
“In a heated moment, I chose to greet hate with hate, and I don’t think that’s a productive thing,” he continued. “I really don’t. I don’t think it leads to discourse and (I don’t think) it’s the right way to go about things. In that moment, I fell down to a level that I shouldn’t have."
“The bottom line is, I want to live my life — I try to live my life — by the ‘golden rule.’ That’s what I’ve always been taught. I try to treat people with common decency [and] respect, and I’m going to keep doing that moving forward even though I fell short this week," Jason concluded before launching into pre-game coverage of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Kansas City Chiefs game.
