Actress Christina Applegate did not hold back her feelings after learning of Donald Trump’s recent presidential victory.
Former President Donald Trump has defeated Vice President Kamala Harris and will return to the White House. His confirmed win in the battleground state of Wisconsin secured the Republican's victory with 276 electoral votes.
Taking to social media just hours after election results were announced, Christina Applegate shared an emotional post expressing her frustration and disappointment, joining a growing number of Hollywood voices unsettled by Donald Trump’s return to the White House.
Christina Applegate Voices Frustrations Over Election Results
Known for her roles in hit shows like "Dead to Me" and "Married… with Children," Applegate used her platform to voice her dismay, sharing her disbelief over the outcome and what she sees as the implications for the country.
"Why? Give me your reasons why?????" she asked in an X post, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. "My child is sobbing because her rights as a woman may be taken away. Why?"
For anyone who disagrees with Applegate, which seems like many, she has one thing to say about that: "Please unfollow me."
Despite this warning, many users, including kickboxer Tristan Tate, clapped back at the actress. "Why? give me your reasons why?????" he said. "Why do you want your daughter to murder your future grandkids so much that you’ll risk WW3?"
"your daughter is crying because you scared her unnecessarily," another claimed.

The hate didn't stop there, with thousands more slamming the actress for her post.
"Better economic policy, more secure border, saner foreign policy," one X user replied. "Tell your daughter that she shouldn't worry. I assume live in California. Trump isn't going to ban abortion nationally. She will still have the "right" to poison your unborn grandkids."
"Your daughter didn’t lose any rights. You’re delusional and you don’t live in reality," another wrote. "Donald Trump wants to make a great America for EVERYONE."
Fans Rally Behind Christina Applegate Amidst The Hateful Comments
Others, however, agreed with Applegate, as one of her fans expressed, "Christina, I don't understand. I'm Canadian and I quite literally threw up! I don't and will never understand."
"I don't understand how so many people can choose this. It's sick and sad. I'm sorry for your daughter and every woman in America," another said.
Hollywood Reacts To The 2024 Presidential Election Results
Applegate is far from the only celebrity voicing disappointment over the election results. Actor Josh Gad joined the conversation, sharing a meme of his character, Olaf, from Disney's "Frozen." The image featured the lyrics, "This will all make sense when I get older," from a song Olaf sings in the second movie, capturing Gad's own feelings of confusion and frustration over the outcome.
Cardi B went live on Instagram soon after hearing the election results, sharing an emotional and unfiltered reaction with her millions of followers. “I swear to god I’m gonna f–k you up, get away from me,” she said, per The New York Post, during the video with more than 37,000 viewers. “I’m sick of you! Burn you’re f–king hats motherf–ker. I’m really sad. I swear to god, I’m really sad.”
Meanwhile, actress Yvette Nicole Brown called the election result a “disgrace.”
“Sherrod Brown losing in Ohio is a lost to Ohio and our nation. This is a disgrace at a level I can’t even quantify. My home state of Ohio chose a criminal,” Brown wrote on X. “And it looks like this nation is choosing a criminal. AmeriKKKa is showing out tonight. Just showing out.”
Donald Trump Returns To The White House
Trump is set to return to the nation’s highest office four years after losing the 2020 election, making attempts to overturn the results, enduring two impeachments, and facing a criminal conviction along with numerous other charges. He will also be only the second president in history to win two nonconsecutive terms.
Before the race was officially called, Trump gave a speech in which he promised to lead America into a “golden age.” His campaign focused heavily on the economy and immigration, often marked by unsubstantiated claims.
He also celebrated Republicans’ projected control of the Senate.
