A Short History Of The Iconic The Jackson 5 Brothers
The Jackson 5, later known as The Jacksons, was founded in 1964 in Gary, Indiana. The group was an American pop band composed of brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, and the late Michael and was managed by their father and musician, Joe Jackson.
Joe set the brothers on the path of fame after discovering Tito's musical talent and passion during a guitar-playing session. Tito's dedication to playing despite a broken string spurred Joe to buy him his guitar.
By 1965, Tito had formed a band with his brothers and recruited childhood friends Reynaud Jones and Milford Hite to play the keyboards and drums.
He led the group to win their first talent show at Theodore Roosevelt High School in 1966, then signed a record deal with Steeltown Records in 1967.
After releasing two singles, the Jackson 5 left Steeltown Records and signed with Motown in 1968. They became the first group to debut with four consecutive number-one hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Tito may have foreshadowed his death a few days prior when he made a quick stop in Munich while there for a performance with his brothers to honor his late brother, Michael.
As shared by The Blast, the trio visited the Orlando di Lasso Statue, a beautiful tribute to the King of Pop, who passed away in 2009. Tito penned a heartfelt message on Instagram, expressing his gratitude for the memorial.
His touching caption read: "Before our show in Munich, my brothers Jackie, Marlon, and I, visited the beautiful memorial dedicated to our beloved brother, Michael Jackson. We're deeply grateful for this special place that honors not only his memory but also our shared legacy. Thank you for keeping his spirit alive."
The statue holds a significant spot in Michael's career as his legendary "HIStory" tour made a stop in Munich in 1997. The place has since become a destination for thousands of fans who troop to pay homage to the king of pop.
