In a recent Instagram post, Roberts donned a black T-shirt with the acronym "POTUS," where the "O" is shaped as a pink female gender symbol, subtly promoting the idea of female leadership in the nation’s highest office.
Her message follows her recent post featuring a female-led campaign ad in support of Vice President Kamala Harris. The ad celebrated women’s voices in leadership and underscored Harris's role in advocating for gender equality and progressive change.
With her far-reaching influence in Hollywood, Roberts' message showcases the impact of individual action. Her call to vote, coupled with her endorsement of Harris, connects her to a larger movement urging Americans, especially women, to understand the significance of their vote.

A few days ago, Roberts launched a new ad campaign urging Americans to raise their voices in support of Vice President Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz in the upcoming election.
The campaign features influential female figures from history and today—among them, activist Betsy Ross, former Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, and soccer star Megan Rapinoe—highlighting a legacy of women’s leadership and advocacy that bridges past struggles with contemporary fights for equality.
Emphasizing unity and collective action, the campaign reflects Roberts’ longstanding advocacy for civic engagement, underscoring the idea that voting is not only a right but a powerful tool for change.
Julia Roberts Says 'Our Children Are Watching'
Central to the video’s message is the protection of women’s rights, especially regarding Roe v. Wade and reproductive freedom. The ad serves as a powerful call to action at a pivotal moment, reminding viewers that their choices will impact not only their lives but also future generations.
Her caption was a nod to Liz Cheney's opening statement at Capitol Riot hearing in July 2021: “Our children are watching."
Alongside historical photos and footage of influential women, the campaign features Laura Bell Bundy's song, American Girl, with lyrics that resonate deeply with the theme of empowerment and progress: "Why’s it so hard being an American girl / Why’s it so hard living in a first-problem world / When the American promise is the land of the free / But I’m waiting for the bill for the air that I breath / Why’s it so hard being an American girl."
Julia Roberts Under Fire For Recent Campaign
Aimed at empowering women voters with the message that they can vote independently from their husbands, the ad has instead drawn backlash, with many critics labeling it as out-of-touch and patronizing.
"In the one place in America where women still have a right to choose, you can vote any way you want, and no one will ever know," the actress declares in the ad, which depicts two women casting their ballots for Vice President Harris and Minnesota Governor Walz.
When the women rejoin their husbands, one husband asks his wife, “Did you make the right choice?” She responds with a confident, “Sure did, honey.”
Donald Trump Feels Julia Roberts Will Regret Ad Supporting Kamala Harris
Former President Donald Trump remarked that he believes actress Roberts may come to regret narrating an ad that suggests women could vote privately for Vice President Harris while telling their husbands something different.
“I’m so disappointed at Julia Roberts because I love — she’s going to look back at that and cringe that, did I really say that?” Trump said, per The New York Times, on “Fox & Friends,” showing surprise that a wife would conceal her vote choice from her husband. “It doesn’t say much for her relationship, but I’m sure she has a great relationship.”
He added, “Even if you have a horrible — if you had a bad relationship, you’re going to tell your husband. That’s a ridiculous ad. It’s so stupid. You’re going to look back some days and just say, did I really make that?”
Voters nationwide are casting their ballots in the presidential race between Vice President Harris and former President Trump, as well as in numerous congressional and local elections. On Tuesday, November 5, polls opened across the country, and results will begin to emerge as polling stations close in each state.
