While it is unclear who Neil Patrick Harris voted for, he is encouraging Americans to exercise their right to vote, a privilege not available to everyone around the world.

Hours before Election Day, NPH shared an Instagram post with his fans, declaring, "Please vote."
"And take a few additional minutes to familiarize yourself with not just the candidates down the ballot, but the measures and propositions as well. Be informed, and be empowered," he added. "Voting is a privilege that many don’t have… so take your time, do it with knowledge and pride. #grateful."
In a follow-up Boomerang, Harris gave a thumbs-up while proudly displaying his "I Voted" sticker and adding a playful wink.
Neil Patrick Harris Calls Politics 'A Low-Hanging Fruit'

In 2019, after the 73rd Annual Tony Awards hosted by James Corden, Harris—a seasoned award show veteran and four-time Tony Awards host—openly discussed incorporating politics into award shows during an appearance on "The View."
"I think politics in an award show is fine. It just seems like easy low-hanging fruit," Harris said. "I think if anything, the people who win awards have an opportunity to say something that is from their heart."
Plus, in 2015, NPH expressed his desire to feature “someone political” on his NBC variety show. However, he wasn’t keen on inviting presidential candidate and frequent headline-maker Donald Trump; instead, Harris had his sights set on someone else.
“President Obama would be so fun,” he told Entertainment Weekly at the time. “Because every time he’s on a talk show, he always seems willing and game to play along.”
NPH Comments On Donald Trump's Tax Form Drama
NPH also called out the former President to release his tax forms. "Donald Trump - for Pete's sake (and I don't even know Pete), release your tax returns," he said in an X post, known as Twitter at the time.
Trump's tax returns have been a focal point of public and legal scrutiny for several years. Unlike his predecessors, Trump declined to voluntarily release his tax returns during his 2016 presidential campaign and throughout his tenure in office, citing ongoing IRS audits.
In 2019, the House Ways and Means Committee, using its oversight powers, requested six years of Trump’s tax returns. Following an extended legal battle, the Supreme Court authorized the Treasury Department in November 2022 to release these documents to the committee.
In December 2022, the committee publicly disclosed six years of Trump’s tax returns, spanning from 2015 to 2020.
Kamala Harris Advocates For The LGBTQ Community
Kamala Harris has consistently been at the forefront of pro-LGBTQ policies, often championing these causes ahead of other prominent members of her party.
During her tenure as a senator, Harris introduced multiple bills aimed at combating discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, advancing protections for the LGBTQ community. Her record also aligns with initiatives under the Biden administration, which extended Title IX protections to LGBTQ students, though the Supreme Court later blocked these.
Notably, in 2022, President Biden signed the Respect for Marriage Act into law, providing federal safeguards for same-sex and interracial marriages — a milestone reflective of the broader LGBTQ rights movement Harris has long supported.
What Has Donald Trump Said About The LGBTQ Community?
As the 2024 campaign drew to a close, Trump and his allies leaned heavily into anti-transgender rhetoric, directing millions into advertisements focused on the issue in key battleground states.
Trump's running mate, Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio, has been a vocal supporter of such policies; in 2023, he introduced legislation aimed at banning gender-affirming care for minors and sought to prevent the State Department from including an "X" gender marker on passports.
Additionally, during his 2022 Senate campaign, Vance declared he would oppose the Respect for Marriage Act—which provides federal protections for same-sex and interracial marriages—citing religious liberty concerns.
