Paul Hogan, the Australian actor best known for playing Michael Dundee in the Crocodile Dundee franchise, will be celebrating his 80th birthday in October.
Ahead of that milestone, he is taking time to reflect on his career and personal life in a two-part series as part of ABC TV’s “Australian Story.”
In part 1, Hogan talks about meeting his first wife, Nolene Edwards. The two were married in 1958 when Hogan was 19 years old and had three sons together before the actor was 22.
“I sort of dug it, I loved it. And we grew up together, me and my kids,” Hogan says.
Edwards and Hogan went on to have five children together. The two were divorced in 1981, but got remarried less than a year later. They divorced a second time in 1990.
Their second divorce stemmed from Hogan falling in love with his Crocodile Dundee co-star Linda Kozlowski. Edwards didn’t speak to Hogan for 16 years following that.
Kolwozski and Hogan were married in 1990, had one son together, and were divorced in 2014.
Hogan was very honest about his abilities as a husband: “I’m not a great husband. I’m good early.”
