The life of Jessi Combs will be celebrated during a memorial that will pay tribute to her achievements in the world of racing and allow fans to pay their final respects to the star.
"Jessi Combs: Life at Full Speed" was just announced as a special event to be held on September 21 at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles.
We're told September 21 will be a private event for friends and family, but a public exhibition will follow immediately after and stay up for a few days.
The event, described as a celebration of the "extraordinary life of Jessi Combs," will also be a time to honor the "Fastest Woman on Four Wheels."
After the initial memorial, a special exhibition will be held at the museum from September 22 - 25.
Tickets to the event are free, and any donations will go straight to The Jessi Combs Foundation.
According to the site, the late star's mission in life was to "explore the relationship between women and machine, as a means to continually push and break stereotypical boundaries."
Her foundation's mission statement is described as:
"The mission of the foundation is to EDUCATE, INSPIRE and EMPOWER the next generation of female trailblazers and stereotype-breakers. Its guiding principle is the simple question “What would Jessi Do?”. With the support of our friends and partners we can empower a generation of females to think broader and creatively."
As we reported, Combs was killed in a crash on August 27 while trying to set a land speed record in the Alvord Desert in a custom fabricated jet-powered race car.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
