Anita Verma-Lallian, a real estate developer and new owner of Matthew Perry’s Pacific Palisades property, has spoken publicly about her motivations for purchasing the home and her plans to "honor" Perry's legacy.
The $8.55 million off-market deal closed earlier this month. Her purchase comes just shy of one year after the "Friends" actor’s tragic passing at the age of 54.
Anita Verma-Lallian has now offered a glimpse into her vision for the property, posing for photos beside its infinity pool and Jacuzzi—the very place where Matthew Perry’s body was found on October 28, 2023.

In an Instagram post shared on Thursday, October 31, the new homeowner of Matthew Perry's house shared several photos of herself seated outdoors at the property, where she had invited her Panditji—a Hindu spiritual leader—to perform a traditional blessing and prayer. The ceremony, she explained, was intended to “honor the positive aspects” of Perry’s life, as well as to recognize “his immense talent and the joy he brought to so many people.”
“The moment I walked into the home, I absolutely fell in love with the features, especially the view of the Pacific Ocean," she wrote." We knew it was ‘the one’ and decided to write an offer on it immediately."
In the images, Verma-Lallian is seen alongside her Panditji by the infinity pool and Jacuzzi, both of which Perry had installed during an extensive renovation. The pool area marks the location where the beloved actor passed, just three years after acquiring the home.
"As a real estate developer myself, I believe every property has a history that we may or may not know about, and every home carries the energy that the current owner brings to it," she added. "I am Hindu, and it’s customary to do a blessing and prayer anytime you buy a new home. We were so lucky to have our Panditji from Arizona come to the house to do the blessing."

Verma-Lallian further mentioned that while she intends to make updates to the home, she has no intention of erasing all the unique touches Perry added during his time there—emphasizing that she will preserve the Batman logo the actor had embedded in the pool floor.
"We do plan to keep some of the design elements. The Batman logo in the pool is definitely staying," she shared.
Regarding the home's tragic past, the real estate mogul and aspiring film producer clarified that her choice to purchase the four-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom property was driven solely by her "love of the home" and had nothing to do with its history.

Matthew Perry Found Unresponsive In Hot Tub
In October 2023, Perry was found unresponsive in his backyard hot tub. While his death at age 54 was initially ruled a drowning, an autopsy later revealed ketamine levels in his blood, consistent with amounts typically used during general anesthesia.
The actor faced a prolonged and highly publicized battle with addiction, particularly with alcohol and prescription drugs. His struggles began in his early 20s amid the soaring success of "Friends," which came with intense pressure and public scrutiny.
Matthew Perry's Official Cause Of Death
Matthew Perry’s death on October 28, 2023, was officially determined to result from the “acute effects of ketamine.” Toxicology reports showed ketamine levels of 3,540 ng/ml in his system, falling within the 1,000 to 6,000 ng/ml range commonly administered in surgical anesthesia.
Following an extensive investigation, five individuals have been charged in connection with Perry's death:
- Dr. Mark Chavez: Pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute ketamine.
- Dr. Salvador Plasencia: Allegedly supplied ketamine to Perry.
- Erik Fleming: Admitted to distributing ketamine that contributed to Perry’s death.
- Jasveen Sangha, known as the "Ketamine Queen": Allegedly supplied the ketamine that caused Perry's death.
- Kenneth Iwamasa, Perry’s live-in personal assistant: Pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute ketamine causing death
The investigation uncovered that Perry, along with his ketamine use, had also taken other substances, including buprenorphine—a medication commonly prescribed for opioid addiction treatment—which together contributed to his death.
