Fans Mourning Eddie Money's Death at Age 70

Entertainment news outlets are reporting that singer Eddie Money has died, and fans are posting their condolences and memories of the prolific artist.

His family put out a statement, which reads:

"The Money Family regrets to announce that Eddie passed away peacefully early this morning. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our loving husband and father. We cannot imagine our world without him. We are grateful that he will live on forever through his music."

Money is best known for his '80s pop and rock hits like "Take Me Home Tonight" and "Two Tickets To Paradise."

Music journalist Steven Hyden wrote that Money was one of those musicians who achieved immortality simply because his records could always be heard on rock and classic-rock stations.

"RIP Eddie Money. The quintessential 'guy who lives forever because classic-rock radio played two of his songs every 8 hours' artist."

Hyden added that Eddie Money's name alone was cause for remembrance:

"Also, one of the great stage names in rock history. Every casino and county fair should fly their flags at half-mast today."

Writer Alan Sepinwall reminded fans about his cameo role in the first season of "The Kominsky Method."

"RIP, Eddie Money. Had a funny cameo in The Kominsky Method s1 where he was pretending to be frontman of an Eddie Money tribute band for tax purposes," Sepinwall wrote.
