Joy Behar may become the latest victim of cancel culture as social media users are outraged by her recent slip-up on "The View."
The comedian is no stranger to speaking her mind without restraints; however, many believe she had no right to share private details about her cohost's life.
Joy Behar sparked criticism for revealing "The View" panelist Sara Haines' past lesbian relationship. To make matters worse, she dropped the bombshell while the latter's parents were in the audience.
Joy Behar Catches The Heat After Comments On 'The View'
Haines received the love and support of X users after Behar outed her same-sex romance. Someone slammed the TV personality as "indecent," claiming, "She is just plain mean. She did this for herself."
"The wh-re is not a smart woman. Joy Behar is really ignorant," another displeased fan declared. A third stressed that Behar no longer had their support, condemning her actions with the words:
"You're shameless @joybehar for your remarks in front of @sarahaines' parents. She has 3 kids too. I used to think you were funny. No more. Bitter old hag."
The criticism continued with someone calling for "The View's" cancelation. "Shame on @JoyVBehar. I say unite #Lesbians and ban the stupid show. The View??? The women open their mouths, and stupidity drains from it all," they penned.
"They are the #garbage. Oh wait, #TRASH Joy Behar should switch her first name. There is nothing joyous about her," the X user added. "Oh God, please go away back under your crazy rock, take Joy Behar with you," a critic told "The View" cohost Whoopi Goldberg.

Fans were not the only ones outraged by Behar's actions, with sources claiming her bosses were displeased. "Joy was blasted by her cohosts and higher-ups for her on-air comment about Sara Haines' lesbian romance," the insider claimed.
"She crossed the line in terms of relaying something that was told to her off-air. She also crossed the line morally with [Sara's] conservative parents in the audience," the informant continued, adding:
"Joy has no filter most days, but this is absolutely not okay, and the higher-ups have spoken to her."
"Joy has apologized to her, but that does not make it right. There are some things that the viewers do not need to know, and Joy embarrassing Sara was unprofessional," the source told Daily Mail.
Sara Haines Played Off The Controversial Moment
Behar's outed Haines at the end of Wednesday's show. She interrupted Goldberg to query Haines about her parent's upcoming appearance on the program's "Behind the Table" podcast.
"I have to ask her a question. Are you going to bring up that lesbian relationship you said you had back at Smith [College]?" Behar asked Haines. The latter played off the question by laughing while the other cohosts stared at them in shock.
Haines' mom seemed unbothered by the revelation, but her dad looked visibly unprepared for the bombshell. The camera caught him with his mouth dropped, but his daughter's professionalism persevered.
"Dad, earmuffs! Earmuffs!" Haines said while laughing. Although she tried to keep the atmosphere light, it did not stop the other cohosts from calling Behar out. "That was off-air that she told us that," Alyssa Farah Griffin quipped.
Behar Once Called Haines A 'Closet Lipstick Lesbian'

While many turned on Behar for outing Haines, a source defended her actions. "This was something that Sara had shared with the audience off-air one week prior, which is why Joy said it so freely," they claimed.
Despite their words, this wasn't the first time Behar had called out Haines for having same-sex relationships. During a June episode of the show, she accused her co-host of being a secret lesbian.
When Haines revealed she had visited Cubbyhole, a lesbian bar in Manhattan, Behar claimed "she's a closet lipstick lesbian." The comedian's comment about her co-star might be related to her "extremely conservative" household.

Haines tied the knot to Max Shifrin in 2014 and welcomed three children — Alec, Sandra, and Caleb. She frequently updated fans about her family, celebrating their milestones on social media.
In June, she marked her youngest, Caleb's fifth birthday on Instagram. Haines shared throwback pictures of her son from the day he was born alongside an emotional message, writing:
"To my beautiful baby boy. Hope your life is full of light sabers, ice pops, laughter, and so much love you have to expand to fit it all in."
Although she laughed off Joy Behar's outburst on-air, is Sara Haines genuinely okay with being outed in front of her parents?
