Megan Thee Stallion has come clean about the lie she told during Tory Lanez's shooting drama.
The "Mamushi" hitmaker cleared the air about her relationship with the convicted rapper in a new documentary. Although she confessed they had been intimate, she noted it did not justify Lanez's actions.
Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez clashed in 2020 when she accused him of firing a gun in her direction. The jury agreed he was guilty, leading to his conviction of assault with a semi-automatic firearm.
Megan Thee Stallion Claims Her Lies Stemmed From Shock
Megan addressed her lies in the new Amazon Prime documentary "Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words." She admitted she hooked up with Lanez once or twice while intoxicated before the shooting.
The entertainer's relationship with Lanez came up during the case and in an interview with Gayle King. But Megan denied having a sexual relationship with the rapper when King pressed her about it in a 2022 "CBS Mornings" show.
Megan reflected on this moment in the documentary, claiming she lied because the question caught her off guard. Nonetheless, she stressed that her relationship with Lanez did not excuse his actions.
TMZ reported that Megan accused Lanez of firing a gun in her direction and telling her, "Dance, b-tch." The alleged incident occurred in July 2020, and the latter was convicted following a jury's guilty verdict.
Tory Lanez Plans To Appeal His Case Using Stallion's Confession
According to the outlet, Lanez's team wasted no time using Megan's confession for his benefit. Ceasar McDowell, CEO of Unite the People, the nonprofit law firm that represents him, argued:
"The fact that Megan lied about her sexual relationship with Tory obviously makes her an unreliable witness. If someone lies in front of millions of people, how can you trust what they say any other time?"
The rep noted Lanez would appeal his sentence, and his motion "includes previous false statements made by Megan." The update comes a year after the "Talk to Me" rapper was sentenced to 10 years behind bars.
Stallion Addressed Critics Following Lanez's Sentence
Days after the court slapped Lanez with a 10-year sentence, Megan confidently returned to performing at the 2023 Outside Lands Music Festival days. The Blast shared that she flaunted her curves in a pink bodysuit, but her figure wasn't all she served.
Megan paused her concert to address the crowd, expressing gratitude to fans who supported her through the shooting drama. "Being a hottie, in general, is just not f–king easy," she noted before slamming critics.
"So today I just wanna say f–k all my haters! None of that sh-t you was doing or saying broke me. None of that sh-t y'all be saying or doing to the hotties broke them," Megan declared. Her words sparked cheers and applause from concertgoers.
Lanez Penned An Emotional Statement Following The Guilty Verdict
Lanez addressed his sentence on his Instagram Story, stressing: "I have never let a hard time intimidate me. I will never let jail time eliminate me." He maintained his innocence, clarifying why he accepted accountability for his actions in court.
"This week in court, I took responsibility for all verbal and intimate moments that I shared with the parties involved… that's it. In no way, shape, or form was I apologizing for the charges I'm being wrongfully convicted of?" Lanez explained.
"I remain on the stance that I refuse to apologize for something I did not do," he added, vowing to clear his name. The shooting case dealt multiple blows to Lanez, with his wife filing to end their marriage.

According to court documents obtained byThe Blast, the rapper's wife, Raina Chassagne, filed for divorce on June 10, 2024. She cited "irreconcilable differences" as her reason for separation and had a few demands.
Chassagne requested spousal support but asked the Court to reserve her right to request compensation from Lanez at a future date. It was unclear if she did so because of his 10-year sentence.
She also asked for sole legal and physical custody of their son, Kai'lon, and offered Lanez visitation rights. The rapper and Chassagne tied the knot on June 25, 2023, six months after he was convicted for shooting Megan.
