Halsey reflected on a difficult period in their life involving a breach of privacy by a figure of authority in the music industry.
The singer hopped on an interview and spilled some piping hot tea on how a photo session with a music executive turned into him going through very private information on their phone.
Halsey's interview comes after the release of their album "The Great Impersonator," which was heralded by a series of portraits of them replicating famous looks from celebrities over the years.
Halsey Was Dumbfounded By The Unpleasant Incident
"I had a really strange situation a couple of years ago. I guess it was quite a long time ago, but I was out, and I was with this executive, this really powerful executive who works in music in some capacity," the singer began on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast.
The music executive then requested Halsey pose for a picture with him as a keepsake for his niece, which they happily obliged. "I took a selfie of the two of us, and I handed him my phone, and I was like, 'Text it to yourself. I have to pee," Halsey noted.
Upon her return, the individual handed them the phone with the screen facing downwards, and they realized he had gone through their nudes on their phone.
They confessed that the situation was awkward and "I was just frozen. I was like, 'Did I just imagine that? Was that an accident? Did the phone scroll up? What the heck just happened?"
Halsey revealed on the podcast that they panicked and wondered if the music executive had sent the images to himself.

Halsey continued that the situation left them questioning how protected they actually were, noting:
"I'm in this situation where I have so much power. I have a bodyguard, and I have, you know, all the leverage in the world, and I'm in this exclusive space in this VIP; I've reached the ranks of like, 'Oh, I am protected or whatever else it may be.' And then this invasive thing just happens on a whim."
They noted that the shocking encounter left them feeling different about being powerful and protected, adding that they went from feeling like "one of the big players" to literally drowning in a puddle.
The performer recalled telling themself, "You're nothing. You're nothing. You'll always be nothing. You're still just that f–king girl who's getting taken advantage of, or like men are talking about you behind your back, or you're some sort of like, collateral.'… It was so demoralizing."
They noted that so many worse things have happened to them, but the breach of privacy incident stood out because they did not attach so much importance to it.

In June, the 30-year-old opened up on her health battles in her new single with the official lyric video uploaded on YouTube. Part of the lyrics read:
