Richard Simmons' Housekeeper Accuses His Brother Of Dishonoring His Memory In Battle Over Estate Trustee

The rift between Richard Simmons' family and his longtime housekeeper continues with new allegations.
Teresa Reveles updated her case against her late employer's brother, Leonard "Lenny" Simmons. She accused him of dishonoring the fitness guru's memory and trampling on his wishes.
To stop his alleged crimes, Richard Simmons' housekeeper implored the court to ban Leonard from profiting off his late brother's name. She demanded that his trustee powers be temporarily suspended, stopping his involvement in a documentary.
Richard Simmons' Housekeeper Claims He Would Be Upset By His Brother's Actions
In Reveles' motion to stop Leonard from exploiting Richard's name and likeness, she claimed the late wellness expert would be displeased by his brother's actions. Her argument read:
"Richard Simmons would roll over in his grave if he knew what his brother Leonard has done since his tragic death on July 13, 2024."
She accused Leonard of disregarding Richard's wishes by partnering with his estranged manager. Reveles claimed the pair teamed up to "pillage Richard's assets and legacy," claiming the manager had been dismissed for exploitation.
"Richard stated that he 'would rather die' than participate in another project with him," the housekeeper alleged. She also noted her late employer rejected the manager's attempts to work on a documentary about his life, per In Touch.
The Housekeeper Slammed Richard's Brother For Ignoring His Instructions
Reveles' arguments continued: "Leonard has openly defied Richard's explicit instructions by getting back into business with [the manager]." She detailed a recent incident involving the documentary, alleging:
"Leonard has turned over the keys to Richard's home to [the manager] and, just last Thursday, October 17, 2024, allowed [the manager] to bring in a film crew so he could push forward with an apparent documentary or similar project about Richard."
Leonard's alleged crimes did not end there, as the housekeeper alleged: "It appears that Leonard is actively preparing to dispose of numerous of Richard's personal effects." She claimed he retained a real estate agent to market Richard's home, adding:
"Leonard is thus likely also making arrangements to imminently sell, donate, or otherwise dispose of Richard's personal effects without Teresa's input, as was envisioned by Richard in the Trust."
Why The Fitness Guru's Loved Ones Fighting Over His Estate
The legal drama between Richard's family and his longtime housekeeper began with Reveles' request to be reinstated as a co-trustee for the estate. The Blast noted she accused Leonard and his wife Cathy of tricking her into leaving the position amid her grief.
However, Richard's family refuted her claims and argued she was after the role out of greed. Tom Estey, a spokesperson for the Simmons family, addressed the situation in a lengthy statement, claiming:
"Richard's message was always one of joy and positivity. He would be heartbroken to learn of Teresa's greed and insulted that she would diminish their three decades of supposed friendship in such a public way."
The Housekeeper Allegedly Did Not Uphold The Values Of A Trustee
The attorney repeatedly slammed Richard's housekeeper, claiming "her actions threaten to harm Richard's incredible legacy, which we are working hard to preserve."
Estey stated that "co-trustees must work together in the best interests of the estate," but Reveles "has shown by her actions that she does not share those interests." The rep continued:
"Even now, two months after he died, she is staying in his house, even though she has her own residence, and she has attempted to charge the estate for her living expenses."
The lawyer also slammed her involvement in a pitched Netflix documentary, claiming her participation would harm Richard's legacy. Estey further criticized Reveles for wasting the beneficiaries' assets with her "meritless and pointless litigation."
Richard Simmons' Family Slams Pauly Shore For 'Authorized' Biopic
Months before Richard's family clashed with his housekeeper, The Blast reported they had slammed Pauly Shore on X. Reps for the fitness guru's loved ones called out the comedian for comments about a potential biopic.
The reps claimed he was attempting to proceed "with an unauthorized movie about Richard." They urged fans to recall the fitness expert's stance on the biopic and shared a statement from his brother, Leonard.
"Dicky absolutely wrote his own posts. He worked on them a week in advance, going over and over them to get the right message," Leonard claimed. He noted Richard often read his posts to him and his wife, stressing:
"What he has NOT done was to text, email or call Pauly with anything; not even to wish him "Good Luck" as Pauly has stated many times."
Will Richard Simmons be able to rest in peace with the ongoing drama between his loved ones?
