Tekashi 6ix9ine's troubles with the law continue with his recent arrest for violating the terms of his supervised release.
The "GOOBA" rapper recently made waves for ending up in trouble despite vowing to keep his head down. He was taken into custody on the morning of Tuesday, October 29.
The Hip-Hop star's arrest spells big trouble for him, given the terms of a new record deal. Per the agreement, Tekashi 6ix9ine must be on the right side of the law, and he expressed confidence in doing so by labeling himself a "trouble-free individual."
Tekashi 6ix9ine Reportedly Violated The Terms Of His Release Three Times
According to new reports, Tekashi was arrested and scheduled to be arraigned at a New York federal courthouse for allegedly violating the conditions of his supervised release.
His attorney, Lance Lazzaro, revealed the rapper was notified two weeks ago about the violations and ordered to appear before a federal judge on October 29. However, Tekashi was an hour late to the hearing.
His untimely appearance forced the judge to dispatch U.S. Marshals to find him. But Lazzaro claimed Tekashi arrived at the courthouse by himself and surrendered voluntarily. As for his probation violations, he was accused of failing to adhere to the rules on three occasions.
The lawyer told TMZ Tekashi's crimes included performing in Las Vegas, Nevada, without permission from his probation department. He also failed a drug test by testing positive for meth and did not take a required drug test on a separate occasion.
The Rapper's Attorney Claims The Drug Violation Might Be Wrong
According to Lazzaro, Tekashi might not have violated the drug terms of his supervised release. He claimed the positive result for meth might be a false positive because the rapper takes Adderall, a drug used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) per WebMD.
Tekashi obtained supervised release as part of his 2020 plea deal. At the time, he was slammed with various crimes, from racketeering, firearms offenses, conspiracy, narcotics trafficking, and more.
However, he escaped a 47-year prison sentence by cooperating with authorities in their investigation of other defendants. Tekashi was placed on a 5-year probationary period after his ankle monitor was removed at the end of his home confinement in 2020.
The 'Trollz' Rapper Signed A Stay-Out-Of-Trouble Record Deal
Earlier this month, The Blast shared that Tekashi had signed a new deal with Kartel Music. The agreement noted he would earn over $6 million for a new album and a tour — as long as he stayed out of trouble.
The 28-year-old entertainer expressed confidence in fulfilling the contract terms and described himself as a "trouble-free individual." Instead, he claimed the problems found him on their own.
As for the business deal, Tekashi noted it was more of "an exclusive tour arrangement" than the typical record contract signed by most artists. He revealed the agreement would also expand his music to Mexico, South America, and Central America.
The Hip-Hop Star's Promised To Embrace His Hispanic Heritage
With the new deal, Tekashi planned on introducing the world to a new sound — one that embraced his Hispanic heritage. He expressed excitement for the project, noting fans could expect "nothing Hip-Hop."
But the rapper's new music would only arrive if he adhered to the terms of his record deal. Tekashi has been a trouble magnet for years and was detained in January for an alleged domestic violence incident in the Dominican Republic.
He was accused of assaulting a local music producer and using a violent gang as a "personal hit squad" in 2023. Tekashi was taken into custody that same year for driving above the speed limit in Florida and other traffic violations.
Tekashi 6ix9ine Was Assaulted In A Sauna
While most of his legal troubles stemmed from his actions, Tekashi had moments when he wasn't wrong. In March, he was ambushed by a group of men in the sauna of a South Florida fitness center.
The men physically assaulted the rapper, beating him to a pulp despite his efforts to fight back. A viral video of the attack showed two men mercilessly kicking and punching him until blood streamed down Tekashi's face.
A gym staff eventually noticed him after the beatdown and alerted authorities about the incident. Emergency services also responded to the scene and took Tekashi to the hospital for treatment.
Will Tekashi 6ix9ine's recent violations of his supervised release negatively impact his record deal?
