This path of grief is sadly familiar to the WWE Hall of Famer, as he lost Reid tragically to a drug overdose incident on March 29, 2013.
Per TheSportster, the late 25-year-old was discovered dead in his hotel room in Charlotte, North Carolina, after which an autopsy disclosed that he passed away from a lethal mix of heroin and prescription medication.
Reid reportedly struggled with addiction and a series of legal and personal battles for a few years, leading to his eventual passing. The budding wrestler was once arrested for heroin possession in 2009.
He also pursued a wrestling career like his superstar father. He reportedly traveled regularly with him across the world for wrestling shows with hopes for his professional career to pick up.

Despite his sterling achievements in the wrestling ring spanning multiple decades, Flair's kids remain the most significant part of his life. According to PEOPLE, the star fathered four children. He shares a son, David, and a daughter, Megan, with his first wife, Leslie Goodman.
After his split from Leslie, Ric married Elizabeth Harrell, with whom he shares a daughter and fellow WWE wrestler Charlotte, and his late son Reid. In 2021, the wrestling icon stated in an interview about his children:
"It's funny because my biggest thrill in life was my two youngest kids. I was traveling all the time when my older ones were in high school and college and that, and I built them trophy cases. They both were phenomenal amateur athletes, and I built a trophy case. I had fun doing that."
Like her dad, Charlotte has also made a name for herself as a successful wrestler in the WWE universe, including taking home 18 championship belts.
His son, David, also had a decade-long career with the wrestling network, winning both the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship and World Tag Team Championship, before stepping down to start his family in 2004.

Flair was also by his daughter’s side when she won her first championship at Wrestlemania 32. He has been vocal about his pride in the professional wrestler’s career successes.
The 38-year-old married fellow WWE wrestler Andrade El Idolo in 2022 in Mexico. The lavish ceremony was attended by 160 guests and held in Torreón Andrade’s hometown.
