The Rock is silencing his critics, including former co-star Tyrese, with a post about the box office success of his "Fast & Furious" spin-off “Hobbs & Shaw”.
The actor (real name: Dwayne Johnson) posted a screenshot of a Deadline story which read “‘Hobbs & Shaw’ Decks $700M+ At Global Box Office, Rocks Records For ‘F&F’ Franchise.”
He captioned the post, “Assassins quietly play chess loud clowns play checkers.
Thank you audiences worldwide for this incredible support and massive win.
Very cool and we’re grateful for the love #hardestworkersintheroom #hungryhumble

The caption would appear to be a direct shot at haters like Tyrese. The two have not gotten along over the years.
The Rock joined the “Fast & Furious” franchise in “Fast Five”. He also starred in “Furious & Furious 6”. His co-stars Tyrese and Vin Diesel beefed with The Rock while working together.

Tyrese did not seem to enjoy The Rock getting his own spin-off “Hobbs & Shaw”. Tyrese complained that “Hobbs & Shaw” pushed back the production of the next F&F movie, “Fast 9”. He even threatened to not appear in “Fast 9” if The Rock came back.
Back in August, as The Rock was promoting the spin-off, Tyrese decided to reignite his feud with The Rock and trash the film.
Tyrese posted a screenshot showing the opening weekend box office numbers. He wanted to make clear “Hobbs & Shaw” was the lowest box office opening for the franchise, since the third film back in 2006.
Gibson wrote, “I have to show my respects for one thing…. He tried…….. Folks called me a hater…. Attacked me for speaking out…..Breaking up the family clearly doesn’t have the value that one would assume it does.”
He continued, “180 million dollar global opening on Hobbs and Shaw is NOT a win … Again my respects cause he tried his best.”
The Rock kept it classy and did not respond to Tyrese’s comments until now. “Hobbs & Shaw” is now the fifth highest grossing film in the franchise. The movie has grossed over $700 million worldwide.
