Joey King Suffers 'Embarrassing' Malfunction In Shirtless Blazer

Joey King put on a flawless display in her shirtless pantsuit ahead of the weekend, but it looks like her evening out didn't go to plan. The actress, 25, turned heads on Instagram as she accepted her Face of the Future Award at the Women in Film L.A. event last Thursday, but it was her wardrobe malfunction that made the most headlines as she bravely chose to share it on social media. The Daily Mail even called the whole thing "embarrassing."

Looking stylish in a fitted gray blazer and pants look, Joey opted out of a red-carpet dress, nonetheless checking boxes for her chic display. Wearing her hair down as she grinned for the camera, Joey posted jointly with the Max Mara fashion designer she's signed to, saying:

"Max Mara is proud to honor the multi-talented actress and producer, Joey King, as the recipient of the 2024 @womeninfilmla Face of the Future Award."

Going viral with her video, Joey also shared the moment when she left her dinner table to go and accept the award. Here, slow-motion footage showed the Hollywood star nearly exposing her chest as her jacket appeared to fall open, and she was grappling to save the whole thing. Using her hands to desperately pin the jacket shut, Joey managed to stay safe, but only just.

Joey eventually regained her composure, making her way toward the stage as she peeped the high heels, she'd teamed her suit with. In an amusing caption, she wrote: "Face of the Future is what they were promised…I am what they got."

Gaining likes, one fan replied: "I'm glad they helped her instead of just standing there I love women!" Another loved that Joey has "regular girl problems" despite being a celebrity, with a third saying: "The top was trying to give a show with ceremony nice save though!"

Joey was likely paid to wear Max Mara as she continues to rep the classic brand. On Friday, she shared this leggy snap, modeling a brown, slouchy-sleeved dress with a thigh-skimming hemline.

"Wowwww last night was so special, I’m in disbelief at all the people who showed up (some pictured but most not only because I left my phone in my purse and took like 0 of my own photos ) I’m so thankful. Being named the Max Mara Face of the Future is just the most flattering and beautiful gift and I can’t wait for tonight’s ceremony!!" she said. Joey chose Carolina Herrera for her Academy Museum Gala, though, making front-page news for her strapless gown.
