"One Tree Hill" alumna Bethany Joy Lenz is sharing insight into how she learned to navigate life as a cult member while starring on one of the most memorable teen dramas of the aughts. The actress's memoir, "Dinner with Vampires," was released today!

The new author has opened up about well-known aspects of her life recently while doing press for the memoir. The 43-year-old discussed how living in a religious-oriented cult during the series' run impacted her relationships off-screen, as well as the relationships in her personal life.

Fans are likely to see Lenz in photos with her "One Tree Hill" castmates, Sophia Bush and Hilarie-Burton Morgan. The trio began hosting a podcast where they reexamine the series, almost a decade after the hit CW drama wrapped.

Lenz has recently revealed details about her respective relationships with her former co-stars were really like while promoting the book and continued to provide insight in the pages of her memoir.

Lenz shared bits and pieces of her relationship with Bush recently, in an interview with Alex Cooperduring her appearance on "Call Her Daddy." The "Colony" star revealed that her off-screen situation impacted her relationship with the "Good Sam" actress.

"I think we were both approaching life from a similar way, but from opposite perspectives," Lenz shared to Cooper, about her relationship with Bush. She continued by saying, "She would have been much more quick to listen to my perspective and hear me than I would have been at the time. But I think fundamentally there was probably a similarity."

'One Tree Hill' Fans Think Lenz's Relationship With Morgan Is Frayed

Earlier this year, "One Tree Hill" devotees on Instagram noticed a glaring omission from Burton-Morgan's following list: the "Walking Dead" guest star is reportedly no longer following Lenz on the social network.

Some fans shared screenshots that trace the moment back to a quote Burton posted in an Instagram story about imitation being the highest form of flattery. The quote read, "I don't think imitation is the highest form of flattery. I think it's annoying," per Us Weekly. The publication shared that some fans believe their alleged falling out is due to a difference in political views. Others are pointing to similarities in the actresses' respective memoir covers.

Lenz alluded to a "bizarre misunderstanding" between the twosome that she hopes will be resolved ASAP. She added that she "loves" Burton. "I have always and will always and I don't have any problem with her," Lenz clarified.

When castmates spend hours upon hours of time with one another, they tend to notice details about each other's behavior.

Lenz observed how outsiders around the "One Tree Hill" cast perceived Bush's beauty in her memoir. Talking about the "John Tucker Must Die" actress, Lenz wrote, "As bubbly and compassionate as she was, she was even more intelligent ... Her mind could have been put to good use by NASA — except, of course, she's so beautiful the astronauts would never want to leave Earth."

According to PEOPLE, it was difficult for Lenz to see the similarities in each other as young actresses attempting to navigate the business. She also shared how Bush tried to prove her own value.

"Frequently favored and constantly underestimated in life because of her beauty, Sophia worked obsessively at proving her value," Lenz wrote, also detailing, "I failed to notice she was also trying hard."

The "Dexter" actress was honest about the path she found herself on, which eventually resulted in being a cult member for a decade while promoting her first book.

"We crave that kind of intimacy," Lenz explained about the universal aspect of desiring community. "The idea that someone out there says, 'No matter what you do or how badly you might behave or what dumb choices you make, I still love you, and I'm here for you,'" she added.

The "Dinner with Vampires" author revealed she was able to find that community in church. Eventually, Lenz was introduced to an outsider who had come to speak at her bible study; the newcomer began promoting the idea of attendees "living in a commune-like environment," per PEOPLE. The actress was initially unbothered by the experience or the conversation.

"It still looked normal," Lenz explained. "And then it just morphed. But by the time it started morphing, I was too far into the relationships to notice," the actress continued.

The "Drama Queens" podcast co-host has been open about the decade of recovery she has undergone to move forward from the dark chapter in her life.

Lenz recently shared the anger she has felt about her decade spent living in a cult. telling PEOPLE she has experienced many moments where she has questioned God about what happened.

"The further away I get from it, the more of a blessing I see in it," she said.

"The more good things I see, the more good things I see walking through that [period]."
