Late Angus Cloud's mother, Lisa Cloud, is pushing back against a lawsuit filed by his alleged former assistant, calling it an act of extortion.
This comes after a string of claims on Angus' estate following his untimely death in July 2023, with individuals and entities seeking a piece of his reported fortune.
Angus Cloud's former personal assistant alleged that he failed to pay him for nearly two years, resulting in a $300,000 debt. Now, the late actor's mother is firmly defending against the most recent claim, dismissing it as "Frivolous."
Late Angus Cloud's Mother Demands Assistant's Lawsuit Be Dismissed
Jonathan Kim alleges that Angus "promised to compensate" him $5,000 per month but failed to pay him for nearly two years of service. In legal documents, Lisa, who was appointed administrator of Angus' estate after his tragic death at age 25 in July 2023, slammed the lawsuit as "frivolous."
She insisted that "no contract ever existed" between her son and Jonathan, demanding that the case be dismissed entirely. Her lawyer argued:
"Defendant alleges that any action or inaction by Defendant with respect to the allegations contained in the Complaint was lawful, justified and/or privileged."
In documents obtained by In Touch, they also noted that Jonathan had previously tried and failed to recover these funds in probate court before filing the civil suit.
According to Lisa's legal team, Jonathan's attempt to claim unpaid wages is nothing more than an effort to leverage the court process for personal gain, with no legitimate grounds for recovery.
