Following Liam Payne’s death, Alberto Crescenti, the head of Argentina’s medical services system, informed La Nacion that the singer's "very serious injuries" were "incompatible with life."

Liam Payne's sister paid tribute to her brother via social media on Monday, October 21, revealing that she found out about his passing through the media.
"I have posted about Liam and his achievements over the years with a proud sister alert and that has stood then, now and always!!!" she began to share. "When I saw the news pop up on my phone that you had left us I went cold, I wanted so much for this to be untrue."
"I have spent days hoping that it was a mistake and somebody has got it wrong. You were truly too good for this earth, you are an angel who just lived for making people smile and happy," Nicola continued. "Your talent alone puts you miles ahead, but also you being you. I have been looking back at the messages from the night I had Ffion, how excited you were to meet her, the jokes we all shared and the laughter that you knew we all needed."
She then shared that they don't have many photos together because the family "never wanted him to feel like he was in a room of fans, but we were your biggest fans now and forever."
Liam's sister did share a handful of family photos in her post, including one that showed Liam, his sister, and their sibling Gibbins smiling in front of a floral backdrop surrounded by balloons.

In the social media post, Nicola also shared her brother's motto: "Why bother doing something unless you are brilliant at it, and Liam, you were certainly brilliant at everything you did!!"
"Unfortunately this cruel world is always to quick to judge someone from a few 5 second clips, they then think it entitles them to be able to speak like they know you. We knew you and we loved you," she continued. "I hope you have finally found peace up there and that you'll continue to look after us all as you have done in life. We will make sure Bear knows about his daddy and how much you loved him, we promise this."
Nicola concluded with, "See you soon, Liam, Love You xx."
Liam Payne's Other Sister Releases Statement Following The Singer's Death
Nicola's tribute came shortly after Liam's other sister, Ruth Gibbins, posted a similar heartfelt message on Instagram on Saturday, October 19.
“I don't believe this is happening," she expressed. "Liam is my best friend, no one could ever make me laugh as much as him, doing his impressions always had me creasing and he loved seeing how much of a laugh he could get."
“Liam, my brain is struggling to catch up with what's happening and I don't understand where you've gone," Gibbins continued. "I just want to drive to your house and walk into music blasting and find you sat there writing a song.”
She added, “I don't feel this world was good enough or kind enough to you, and quite often over the last few years, you've had to really try hard to overcome all that was being aimed at you...One last time I need you to know, I'm here if you need anything, I'd drive to the end of the universe to bring you back."
'Pink Cocaine' Found In Liam Payne's System
According to sources who spoke with ABC News, a partial autopsy revealed that the former One Direction singer had multiple substances--pink cocaine, cocaine, benzodiazepines, and crack--in his system before falling to his death from a third-floor balcony at a hotel in Argentina.
Despite its name, pink cocaine isn’t actually cocaine. Highlighted in a 2022 VICE documentary, the neon-colored drug is usually a blend of MDMA, ketamine, and caffeine. It can also sometimes include benzodiazepines, meth, and cathinones.
Users often report a mix of ketamine’s sedative and hallucinogenic effects combined with the stimulant high of MDMA and caffeine.
