As investigations continue into the death of Payne, his toxicology report has shown that he had a mixture of drugs in his system before he fell to his death.

According to the Daily Mail, the preliminary results from the tests carried out on Payne's remains revealed traces of cocaine, benzodiazepine, crack cocaine, and "pink cocaine," which is a mixture of methamphetamine, MDMA, and ketamine.

Although there are still ongoing tests on the substances found at Payne's suite, such as white powder, traces of chemical crystals, and prescription medicines, the findings from a post-mortem of the singer's body have been finalized.

According to the Daily Mail, an Argentine news website stated that a "forensic study carried out in Liam's body determined the presence of cocaine."

However, they noted that "a test carried out by the [Buenos Aires] City Police on the substance found on Liam's room table [has] not confirmed the white powder as cocaine," adding that "a second test is to follow to determine the nature of the drug."

Payne's father, Geoff Payne, is reportedly expected to stay in Buenos Aires until his son's body is given to him in person.

Argentine judicial sources shared with the news outlet that the singer's body will not be released to his Geoff until all tests have been finalized.

Payne's ex-fiancée, Maya Henry, revealed in a podcast before his passing that the singer often predicted his early death.

During an appearance on "The Internet is Dead podcast," she made the chilling disclosure, claiming that Payne "played with death."

"There was one time I tried to get him help, but he was not taking it," Henry said. "He would always message me after we broke up, he would say, 'I'm not well.'"

The model continued, "He would always play with death and be like, 'Well, I'm going to die; I'm not doing well.' I know the lifestyle that he lives and there is a day that something is going to happen."

"So I would always be like, OK, he's saying these things, I am going to have to help him because I am not going to be able to live with myself if something happens to him," Henry added.

The "Strip That Down" singer suffered a major setback just days before falling from the CasaSur Hotel's third floor in Buenos Aires.

The Daily Mailreported that Payne's record label, Universal Music, dropped him. According to the news outlet, the label believed his new songs would not be able to attract One Direction fans, hence why they chose to let him go.

Payne was initially signed to Sony as part of his former boy band One Direction, but inked a new deal with Capitol Records in July 2016, an outfit owned by Universal, where he properly pursued his solo career.

He was said to have been "thrilled" when he signed the deal but was dropped following the company's recent reshuffle.
