Brooke Mueller's dark past continues to haunt her, with her former drug dealer allegedly trying to blackmail her.

Mueller, the ex-wife of actor Charlie Sheen, recently claimed she is the victim of an extortion scheme. She alleged that the man who once sold substances to her was threatening her with evidence of their interactions.

Fearing for her reputation and to escape this alleged plot for her money, Brooke Mueller reported the drug dealer to authorities. This marks the second time in recent months her name has been linked to the law following Matthew Perry's death.

According to law enforcement sources, Mueller contacted authorities about the alleged extortionist. She claimed her former drug dealer blackmailed her with videos of her buying drugs and engaging in other compromising actions.

It was unclear if the man threatened Mueller with evidence of these videos or only claimed to have them. Nonetheless, sources noted his presence was enough for her to be worried as the man allegedly claimed he would release the clips if he wasn't paid.

While law enforcement sources claimed Mueller had attempted to buy the drug dealer's silence with gifts and money, an insider close to her stressed that she had never given the man a dime. But the threats went on for months before the media personality ran to authorities.

The "Friends" star took his final breath in October 2023 after being found unresponsive in his rooftop hot tub. Perry's death sparked a months-long investigation after tests revealed he had a high level of ketamine in his system.

While searching for where he got the substance, cops questioned Perry's close associates like Mueller. She was linked to him because the pair were treated in the same rehabilitation facility in Los Angeles.

They were reportedly admitted to the same rehab as Jasveen Sangha, aka "The Ketamine Queen," who was later arrested and charged in connection with Perry's death. Mueller's ties to those responsible for the late actor's demise did not end there.

The Media Personality Had Her First Interview In 15 Years

Although her name made waves during Perry's death case, Mueller did not officially return to the spotlight until September. The Blast reported that she made a grand appearance on "The Hollywood Raw" podcast to discuss her sobriety journey. Mueller reflected on how far she had come, saying:

"It's been hard. And a lot of people at my level of addiction don't make it. In fact, most people don't. I worked really hard. It has not been easy."

"I am sober. I do work in a program. I do believe in the Twelve Steps. And to answer your question, I have nine months sober. Well, next week will be nine months," she proudly declared.

Mueller noted she wouldn't have succeeded without a sound support system, adding: "I have a fantastic sober community here in Malibu of some great women, and set meetings that I go to."

Mueller implied that this might be her last sobriety journey, declaring that she finally knew how to fight her addictions. Surprisingly, learning to attain sobriety did not come from the millions she spent at expensive rehabilitation facilities.

"In fact, this last time, I went to an insurance-only place, and they did not cater to me. They did not enable me. They did not care who I could have been or anything like that," Mueller recalled.

She noted the more affordable centers gave her the help she needed, adding: "So what was fantastic about that experience is, it was real, it was raw, and it woke me up. It really did."

Mueller's determination to stay sober might stem from her child custody arrangement with her ex-husband, Charlie Sheen. The actor implored the court to monitor her for drug and alcohol abuse closely.

Sheen stressed that Mueller must be clean to have rights to their twin sons, Bob and Max. Part of his terms read, "Brooke shall test for drugs and alcohol (1) as often as required by her probation officer; (2) within 24 hours of a written request (email or text) from Charlie or his attorney."

According to Sheen's filing, his ex-wife would lose custody and visitation rights if she tested positive for alcohol and drugs. Given what is at stake, it is unsurprising that Brooke Mueller got a handle on her sobriety journey.
