Legal drama continues to plague Diddy's family, with his son Justin Combs facing a $190,000+ lawsuit amid his custody.
The embattled rapper remains behind bars in New York following his September arrest and indictment on three criminal charges. However, his son's woes began months earlier over missed car payments.
Porsche Leasing Ltd sued Diddy's son for breaching the terms of their contract in June. They recently petitioned the court to grant a default judgment against Justin Combs while his legal reps argued that the suit was a big misunderstanding.
Diddy's Son Asked To Cough Up Owed Payments Plus Interest
According to reports, Porsche Leasing Ltd entered a lease for a new Bentley Bentayga V8 with Justin and his JDC Holdings Group. The deal occurred in January 2022, with Diddy's son agreeing to make 42 payments of $3,365.23.
However, Justin breached the terms of their agreement when he failed to make payments on December 20, 2023. The company explained that per their deal, they could demand the entire amount owed if a default occurred. The lawsuit argued:
"Therefore, there is now due, owing, and unpaid from the Defendant the approximate sum of $172,601.43, plus additional charges pursuant to the terms of the Agreement. Interest accrues from December 20, 2023, at the legal rate of 10% per annum, until paid in full."
Porsche Leasing Ltd noted they served Justin with the documents on June 11 at Diddy's Beverly Hills mansion. At the time, his attorney, Jeffrey Lichtman, told In Touch the lawsuit stemmed from a misunderstanding on the company's part.
It has, however, been revealed by a lawyer representing Porsche Leasing LTD that the lawsuit "is in the process of being resolved."
Justin Combs Did Not Intentionally Skip The Car Payments
According to Justin's attorney, he did not default on the car lease bills on purpose. "Due to an address change, Justin did not receive his bill, which resulted in unintentionally missed payments," the legal rep explained.
"We are in touch with the creditor, and the matter is being settled. The outstanding balance will be paid, and the lawsuit will be dropped," the lawyer claimed. Despite his words, Porsche Leasing Ltd moved forward with their lawsuit.
Earlier this week, the company petitioned the court to grant a default judgment of $190,226.25 against Justin. Their request covered $172,000 in missed payments and $13,000 in interest fees.
Justin Previously Avoided Jail Time Thanks To A Plea Deal
Diddy's son was no stranger to legal drama as he avoided jail time in 2023 thanks to a plea deal. The Blast reported that Justin scored an excellent offer in his DUI case, which started after his arrest in June.
According to the plea deal, Justin's DUI charge was dismissed after he pleaded no contest to a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or higher. As for his punishment, the rapper's son was sentenced to three years of summary probation.
Additionally, he was ordered to "enroll and participate in and successfully complete a 3-month licensed first-offender alcohol and other drug education and counseling program." A year after Justin's DUI case, his brother, King Combs, made headlines for partying amid their father's custody.
Christian 'King' Combs Slammed For Having A Good Time Despite His Father's Woes
Earlier this week, The Blast shared that fans had bashed Diddy's lookalike son Christian for dancing the night away amid his federal indictment and confinement. The criticism came shortly after the latter supported his father at a recent hearing.
An entertainment outlet on Instagram shared a video of Christian partying with his girlfriend, Raven Tracy, and friends at a club. Although it was unclear when the footage was taken, many were disappointed in Diddy's son.
One disapproving comment partly read, "It doesn't look that good for his daddy/ twin to be in jail for drugging women, and he is named in that lawsuit.... and he's feeding women drinks." Another IG user claimed:
"He has to be delayed or slow in thought. Feeding a woman drinks on IG live while your father is accused of being a drink-feeding predator?"
Diddy May Face Additional Charges In His Federal Case
Diddy's legal woes began in September when he was arrested and indicted on three criminal charges — racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. These crimes were severe enough to warrant a life sentence, but there might be more.
Prosecutors revealed that a supplementary indictment could be filed against Diddy. This outcome might occur if new charges arise from his relationship with at least one other sex worker.
A grand jury had begun reviewing the alleged link between Diddy and this witness, but that wasn't all. More charges could come from investigating the terabytes of electronic data seized during the raids on his homes.
What else does fate have in store for Diddy and his sons?
