Cassandra "Cassie" Ventura is reportedly staging a major music comeback after Sean "Diddy" Combs seemingly stalled her career.

The singer had an on-off relationship with the embattled music mogul for 11 years but has just one album to her credit.

Last year, she alleged in a bombshell lawsuit that she had to endure physical and sexual abuse all through their long-term relationship.

Sean "Diddy" Combs is now behind bars for a string of sex crime charges as he awaits trial in May 2025.

Cassie Is Reportedly Planning A Comeback Amid Diddy's Arrest

According to the Daily Mail, Cassie is quietly plotting her musical resurgence years after her career was stalled by her tumultuous relationship with hip-hop mogul and abuser Diddy for over two decades.

The "Me & U" songstress recently registered a new song and is reportedly considering whether to release some of her never-heard-before projects.

"Cassie is considering making a comeback to music now that Diddy is behind bars and some of the executives who were his lackeys are resigning," a source told the news outlet.

"She couldn't have imagined her career would have been stalled in the way it was when her first album came out, but she has so many unreleased records that she wants to release if the timing and business is right," the insider explained.

They added, "Her collaborators have been informed of this, so the royalty splits have been agreed."

The Singer Has Been Quietly Making Moves As She Gears Up For Her Return

Cassie has reportedly been tweaking some of her unreleased projects as talks of a comeback circulate online.

According to the Daily Mail, she made amendments to a track titled "Into It" in May, originally registered with Universal Music as far back as 2010. In August, she also registered a new song, "Midnight Hour," with the record label.

Even though Cassie dated Diddy for more than a decade, she has just one album to her credit. She signed to the rapper's Bad Boy Records in 2006 to release her debut single, one year before they started dating.

Cassie also released her first and only album, self-titled "Cassie," later that year.

She would then drop songs inconsistently, releasing three singles between 2008 and 2009, "Official Girl" featuring Lil Wayne, "Must Be Love" featuring Diddy, and "Let's Get Crazy" featuring Akon.

Cassie went MIA for about four years before dropping her debut mixtape, "RockaByeBaby," in 2013, before eventually leaving Diddy's Bad Boy Records in 2019.

Cassie Sued Diddy For Sexual And Physical Abuse

In November last year, the "Long Way 2 Go" singer filed a legal complaint alleging years of sexual abuse, harassment, and rape during the relationship she entered with Diddy and remained in for years.

In her filing, she claimed that she was stuck in a decade-long "cycle of abuse, violence, and sex trafficking," including a 2018 rape incident after she tried to leave him, per People.

She also wrote that she got signed to his record label, the "Finna Get Loose" rapper introduced her "to a lifestyle of excessive alcohol and substance abuse and required her to procure illicit prescriptions to satisfy his own addictions." She also alleged that Diddy Forced her to "engage in sex acts with male sex workers while masturbating and filming the encounters."

"After years in silence and darkness, I am finally ready to tell my story, and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships," she said in a statement at the time.

Cassie continued, "With the expiration of New York's Adult Survivors Act fast approaching, it became clear that this was an opportunity to speak up about the trauma I have experienced and that I will be recovering from for the rest of my life."

The Former Couple Settled The Lawsuit Shortly After It Was Filed

Cassie and Diddy settled the case out of court just one day after it was filed, with the rapper paying the singer an undisclosed amount of money.

"I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control," Cassie said in a statement, per People Magazine. "I want to thank my family, fans, and lawyers for their unwavering support."

Her attorney, Douglas Wigdor, also noted, "I am very proud of Ms. Ventura for having the strength to go public with her lawsuit. She ought to be commended for doing so."

At the time, Diddy's lawyer shared that the settlement was "in no way an admission of wrongdoing."

"We have decided to resolve this matter amicably," Diddy said in a statement. "I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love."

Cassie Was 'Hopeful' That 'Justice Would Come'

Meanwhile, Cassie reportedly hoped that justice would one day be served, especially in the aftermath of a resurfaced hotel surveillance clip that showed Diddy hitting, stomping, and dragging her down the hotel alley.

The "Bad Boy For Life" rapper has since been arrested and is currently facing charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He's been held up at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center in Manhattan and has been denied bail thrice as he awaits trial in May 2025.

After his arrest on September 16, a source told People that Cassie had been "hopeful that justice would come," as it took a great deal of courage for her to speak up because Diddy was "protected" by "so many people."
