'Overhaulin' Star Chris Jacobs Reacts to Co-Host Jessi Combs Death: 'She Was An Icon'

Jessi Combs was hailed as a legend in the TV auto community, and after her death the praise from her colleagues proves just how much she was loved.
Shortly after news broke that Combs died in a tragic car crash while trying to set a land speed record in the Oregon desert, "Overhaulin'" star Chris Jacobs sent out his condolences.
"Very saddened by the news of @thejessicombs passing... She was an icon in our industry and she will be missed. RIP" Combs wrote on Instagram alongside photos of him and Combs during their time together hosting the auto show on Discovery.
Combs was a co-host alongside Jacobs from 2012-2013 before leaving the show.
The two were also rumored to be dating after Combs ended her marriage with "Xtreme 4x4" host Ian Johnson, however that was never confirmed.
As we reported, Combs died Tuesday after a crash in the desert while piloting a car fabricated from the body of a fighter jet.
According to The Harney County Sheriff’s Office, they received a call Tuesday around 4 PM of a crash that occurred in a dry lake bed out in the Alvord Desert.
The location of the crash was just southeast of Steens Mountain, and the Combs died instantly.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation, and we're told officials are trying to determine what exactly happened while Combs was trying to set a land speed record.
She was dubbed "The Fastest Woman On Four Wheels" after topping 440 MPH in 2014 in her 52,000-horsepower, 56-foot-long, North American Eagle Supersonic Speed Challenger.
