Imagine seeing all your friends Facebook pics of the beautiful Northern Lights they were witnessing. And then you walk outside to throw some garbage out and see a gigantic Big Mac instead of the lights. Well, I don't have to imagine that because that's how my Thursday night went!
As someone who loves the Sphere in Las Vegas and has a perfect view of it from my home, I'm not saying I'm disappointed in my view, but the timing of it was quite hilarious.
A Gigantic Chicken Big Mac In The Vegas Skyline!
If you weren't hungry before seeing the Sphere transform into a giant Big Mac and Chicken Big Mac, you might be after. The larger-than-life burger took over the Sphere's exosphere for all of Vegas to see on Thursday night.
McDonald's wanted to make sure all of Vegas knew that the Chicken Big Mac is coming. It's hard to miss an ad that's THAT big!
At first, the Sphere became a huge Big Mac before transforming into the new chicken version of the sandwich. The Chicken Big Mac was released in the UK first and now the U.S. can also try it. And nobody knows this better than anyone in Vegas on Thursday night.
The Sphere Is Mesmerizing!
While the Sphere changes graphics often and has many to showcase, it seemed like the Chicken Big Mac was popping up on the Sphere more often than not on Thursday night. McDonald's really wants to get the word out about their newest creation!
According to TMZ, the Chicken Big Mac sold out in just 10 days in the UK. They also reported that the advertising on the Sphere is $350,000 a day!
The Chicken Big Mac is available at select stores for a limited time, so don't stare at the gigantic sandwich in the sky too long before heading to your nearest McDonald's!
The Sphere Celebrated One Year Lighting Up The Vegas Skyline In July
This summer, the Sphere celebrated its first anniversary of uniquely lighting up the Las Vegas skyline.
To celebrate the big milestone, new features were introduced on the Fourth of July.
"The Sphere Fourth of July Celebration" marked the launch of "XO Stream" presented by Verizon, an official live stream of the Exosphere that will be available 24/7 on thesphere.com, and "XO Audio," custom audio synced to content being displayed on the Exosphere.
"Sphere has become a global landmark that has redefined the live experience, including the Exosphere, a captivating platform for storytelling since it first illuminated last Fourth of July," Jim Dolan, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sphere Entertainment said in a press release.
"We've only scratched the surface of what Sphere is capable of both creatively and technologically. Now, with the addition of 'XO Audio' and 'XO Stream,' we are building on our commitment to immersive experiences that create a deeper multi-sensory connection - one that can be shared across the Las Vegas community and around the world."

Sphere takes on many different personas. Many times a day, it transforms into a gigantic emoji with quite the personality. Sometimes that emoji explodes into many small emojis. And then there's the holiday themes.
Currently, Sphere transforms into a jack-o-lantern multiple times a day in preparation of spooky season. They recently shared a video of the larger-than-life pumpkin on Instagram.
If you're not in Vegas to see Sphere up close and personal, there is a livestream so you can catch all the cool graphics from wherever you are. Visit the livestream here.
The Inside Of Sphere Is Just As Amazing As The Outside
After being mesmerized by the outside of Sphere since its birth, I decided it was time to experience the inside a few weeks ago. I attended a viewing of "Postcard from Earth" and it was everything I expected and more.
From the minute you walk toward the building to enter, it's magical. Holograms, robots, futuristic decor await you in the lobby. Depending on what section your seats are in, the long escalator, or two, or three, get you there in a fascinating way. It gives you time to fully take in your surroundings.
The movie takes up the majority of the venue walls and ceiling. And it's not just a visual experience; there are also vibrations and smells during specific parts of the film. It's a full sensory experience from start to finish!
I highly recommend taking the time to visit Sphere and checking out a show or the film when in Vegas. It's an experience like no other.
