An unearthed video of Justin Bieber and Sean "Diddy" Combs, in which the rapper appears to be checking the pop star for a wire, has left many confused.
The video resurfaced amid Diddy's recent arrest and sex crime charges and is one of several clips featuring the duo that have gained attention.
Sean "Diddy" Combs has remained in detention in a New York facility since his arrest and recently made a third attempt to secure bail after two previous denials.

An old clip of Diddy and Bieber has sparked discussions among fans about whether the rapper was checking to see if the pop star was wearing a wire during their conversation.
The brief clip began with Diddy and Bieber sharing a warm handshake while standing next to a black SUV. From that point, things took a strange turn as Diddy started touching Bieber multiple times around the chest area as if searching for something.
Initially, the embattled rapper was seen lightly touching the "Ghost" singer multiple times with his knuckles. He then moved closer and continued the gesture using the palm of his hand, and at one point, he and Bieber shared a hug.
Throughout the clip, the two can be seen engaging in a mostly inaudible conversation, except for a moment where they exchange the words "I appreciate you" and "Love you."
Social Media Users React To The Resurfaced Video
The clip was reportedly taken in 2021 but has now gone viral in the wake of Diddy's arrest.
One X user reacted to the clip, claiming Diddy's gestures were a sign of "paranoia" caused by the rapper thinking Bieber was wearing a wire.
Another individual backed the theory, stating the rapper was "just trying to play it safe, nothing more," while a third commented, "he definitely was" checking for a wire.
Someone else mocked the Bad Boy founder, saying his supposed paranoia did not help him escape federal charges.
They wrote, "Lmao, what's all that paranoia going to do now [?] You've been caught red-handed."
Other users debunked the theory, pointing out that wires typically aren't placed in such an easily accessible area.
One wrote, "What's so stupid about this? There are no wires anymore. They're so small they can fit in your collar or other pieces of clothing and are hard to detect."
A second said, "Diddy wouldn't have known if Justin Beiber was wearing a wire in this video just by tapping his chest; there could be more explanation to what he did here."
Other Videos of Diddy And Justin Bieber Have Resurfaced
More controversial videos of Diddy and Bieber have resurfaced online after the rapper's arrest.
In one, a young, smiling Bieber could be seen standing side by side with Diddy as the latter talked about how the teen sensation was spending 48 hours with him.
"He's having 48 hours with Diddy, where we hanging out and what we're doing we can't really disclose," Diddy said at the time. "But it's definitely a 15-year-old's dream."
He added, "I have been given custody of him….for the next 48 hours he's with me and we're gonna go full crazy."
Another clip showed the embattled rapper asking Bieber why they no longer hang out, while a third captured Diddy jokingly warning Bieber not to share any details about what happened during their time together.
When Is Diddy's Trial?
In a recent hearing for the rapper, it was mentioned that his trial could begin in May if every necessary initial process could be concluded on time. This includes handing over evidence in the case, which Diddy's legal team has already filed a motion to expedite.
In the meantime, the rapper will remain in detention in a facility in New York unless his appeal to his previous bail denial is successful. He was previously denied bail twice, first by Judge Robyn Tarnofsky and subsequently by Judge Andrew L. Carter Jr.
The new attempt to get bail comes after Carter Jr. reassigned the case to a new judge, Arun Subramanian, on October 3 due to a full docket.
At this point, it remains unclear whether the appeal includes a more robust argument or if Diddy's legal team intends to rely on the judge's discretion to grant the rapper temporary freedom.
Federal Prosecutors Slammed His Lawyer's 'Racism' Remarks
Prior to the recent hearing, Diddy's lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, claimed that the case against the rapper was a "takedown of a successful Black man," suggesting that racism played a role in the prosecution.
While the comment was made on a public platform, federal prosecutors chose to address it instead in court.
According to TMZ, the Assistant United States Attorney argued that the claim from Diddy's attorney was "baseless," and the prosecution of the rapper was in no way motivated by racism like Agnifilo had claimed.
He also denied that the prosecution had leaked grand jury information to the press after Diddy's legal team sought a gag order from the presiding judge, Arun Subramanian.
Eventually, Judge Subramanian decided to gag both Diddy's and the government's lawyers, noting that the order would also be binding on other government agents.
