Hoda Kotb has chosen not to disclose the specific ailment affecting her daughter, Hope, out of privacy concerns.

However, in the last six months, the mom of two has noted that “things have stabilized.” To support their family’s well-being, Kotb moved Hope and her older sister, Haley, 7, out of New York City and into Westchester.

Since the relocation, she shared with People Magazine that Hope is "thriving" and "improving," reflecting the positive changes in their new environment. "We're in a place where Hope is thriving," the morning talk show host told the outlet. "She's improving, we're watching her, and I think as time goes on, we'll have a better handle on it, but we're already seeing great differences."

She added, "We really have excellent care; I have people helping us out. I feel like she is finding steady footing."

About Hoda Kotb's Daughters, Haley And Hope

Haley, Hoda Kotb's eldest daughter, was born on Valentine's Day in 2017, and her younger sister, Hope, arrived in 2019, with Kotb present at her birth.

"I always imagined family as my mom, my dad, my brother, my sister. I envisioned it that way until I was 50. Imagine someone saying, 'Hey, guess what? You're actually going to have a whole other family.' It still surprises me! It delights me to know that I have Haley and Hope," Kotb told People of becoming a mom.

"I tell them they were adopted, and I'm not sure if they 100 percent know what that means," Kotb said on the "Me Becoming Mom" podcast in 2021. "I always say, 'You didn't come from Mommy's tummy, you came from my heart.' And they understand that."

Hope Has Faced Various Medical Issues

While Kotb has shared that Hope faced various medical issues, she believes that overcoming these challenges has only made her daughter stronger.

“She just demonstrates that when you have whatever she has inside of her, this will, this fight, this everything...She can withstand anything," she told People in a different interview earlier this year."This child is going to have the easiest adulthood because she’s had a tough go of it early on.”

Hoda Kotb Shares Daughters With Ex Joel Schiffman

Hoda Kotb shares her daughters, Haley and Hope, with her ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman. The former couple called off their engagement in early 2022, but they continue to co-parent their children and support each other as they navigate the challenges of parenthood.

"I have two incredible children I share with him. And it's because of Joel that I have Haley and Hope, without question. I think I might have been too afraid to do it alone," she told People, but are more kids on the way?

"I have not closed the door," she said during an appearance on "The Jamie Kern Lima Show." "I get signs. I have held on to all of our baby stuff, all of it, because here's the truth about life: I keep meeting people who remind you that your heart's ability to expand is beyond measure."

This latest update comes shortly after Hoda Kotb announced she is leaving the "Today" show.

"As I write this, my heart is all over the map. I know I’m making the right decision, but it’s a painful one," Kotb wrote in her letter to the NBC staff. "And you all are the reason why. They say two things can be right at the same time, and I’m feeling that so deeply right now. I love you and it’s time for me to leave the show."

She added, "My broadcast career has been beyond meaningful, a new decade of my life lies ahead, and now my daughters and my mom need and deserve a bigger slice of my time pie. I will miss you all desperately, but I’m ready and excited."
