Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann cannot catch a break as their list of creditors increases amid their mounting financial problems.
The "Real Housewives of Atlanta" alum and the former football linebacker were recently hit with a five-figure lien against their 15,694 square foot Georgia mansion over unpaid bills.
The debt marks the latest lien filed against Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann since their financial situation became dire. The estranged spouses have been trying to sell their home to lessen their burdens; however, they disagreed on the asking price.
Kim Zolciak And Kroy Biermann Slammed By Community Association
According to official records, The Manor Community Association filed a lien against Zolciak and Biermann's seven-bedroom, 11-bathroom mansion in Georgia. They claimed the former couple owed $8,972 in unpaid assessments and late fees.
A year before the five-figure debt, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) slammed Zolciak and Biermann with a massive tax lien. They claimed the pair owed taxes for 2013, 2017, and 2018, amassing a crushing debt of $1.1 million.
The IRS has reportedly not filed a release of the lien, but Zolciak and Biermann's financial woes continued with accusations of owing $15,000 in unpaid taxes to the state of Georgia. Truist Bank joined the list of creditors when it tried to auction off the duo's mansion.
In October 2023, Zolciak and Biermann filed a lawsuit against the bank to stop a scheduled foreclosure auction. In Touch shared that the pair pushed to sell their home themselves, noting the proceeds could alleviate their financial difficulties.
Zolciak Claims She's Been Paying All The Bills
The former couple have been trying to sell their Georgia mansion for months, initially listing it for $6 million. However, they were forced to repeatedly slash the price to attract buyers — a move Zolciak wasn't on board with.
In September, the media personality told paparazzi that she had been paying all the bills on the home. On that note, Zolciak stressed that she did not want to sell the Georgia property below its market value.
Additionally, she alleged that Biermann attempted to reconcile with her, but she was not interested in fixing their marriage. Zolciak and the former athlete separated in 2023 but have not finalized their divorce.
Biermann Filed To Remove His Estranged Wife From The Sale Process
Last month, The Blast reported that Biermann had moved to remove Zolciak from the sale of their home. He claimed they finally got a buyer with a $3.5 million offer, but his estranged wife refused to accept the deal.
Biermann alleged that Zolciak stood in the way of their home's sale because she would not accept anything below $3.85 million despite their financial troubles. He stressed that her refusal to accept the buyer's offer could cost them everything.
With the bank's foreclosure looming over their hands, the former athlete filed for an emergency hearing and asked the court to give him complete control over the sale. He noted Zolciak needed to be removed from the decision-making table, citing her alleged spending habits.
The 'RHOBH' Alum Allegedly Indulges In A Lavish Lifestyle
Biermann slammed his estranged wife for living a great life despite their dire financial situation. He claimed the former couple was drowning in debt, yet the severity of their situation did not stop Zolciak's lavish tastes.
The former Bravolebrity allegedly indulged in extravagant spending, purchasing $400 bottles of wine by the case, splurging on clothes, plastic surgery, and online gambling. Additionally, she frequently took trips out of town.
Biermann stressed that with her spending spree, Zolciak's "rallying cry for poverty is falling on deaf ears," and he was fed up with her lavish habits. He noted that his name on the mortgage placed him at risk of severe credit damage if they lost the property to foreclosure.
Kim Zolciak Gets Fined By Divorce Lawyers Amid Her Separation From Kroy Biermann
Zolciak's financial issues increased in July when The Blast shared that she got slammed with a massive attorney's lien. She was accused of owing over $70,000 in service bills by the legal reps she hired in her divorce from Biermann.
The Levine Smith Snider & Coburn law firm filed the lien against Zolciak and Biermann's Georgia mansion for $77,019.91. Part of their documents read: "The lien is claimed for attorneys fee and expenses of representation in the current principal amount."
They also charged Zolciak an interest rate of 18 percent per annum, marking the second time an attorney's lien had been filed against her. The media personality's former lawyer, David Beaudry, filed the same motion against her Georgia home over a $33,000 debt.
