Sydney Sweeney Teases Role In ‘The Housemaid’ Movie Adaption

Sydney Sweeney is gearing up to take on a captivating new role in the upcoming film adaptation of "The Housemaid."

The actress teased the project to fans, revealing that she will play the titular character Millie, which will offer something unexpected and deeply engaging.

As buzz around the movie builds, Sydney Sweeney's involvement has only fueled excitement for how the thriller, based on Freida McFadden's bestselling novel, will translate to the big screen.

Sweeney is making big moves, with Lionsgate locking in a deal for her to star in the upcoming thriller "The Housemaid," per Deadline.

But that’s not all — the studio is also in final talks with Amanda Seyfried for a co-starring role, and the legendary Paul Feig is on board to direct. The film’s screenplay, penned by Rebecca Sonnenshine, is based on Freida McFadden’s bestselling novel, and it's already shaping up to be a must-watch.

Sweeney will play Millie, a woman down on her luck who takes a job as a housemaid for a wealthy couple, played by Seyfried and another yet-to-be-named star. But of course, things take a dark turn, and Millie quickly discovers that her new employers’ secrets are far more dangerous than her own.

Hidden Pictures’ Todd Lieberman is producing the flick, and Sweeney and Seyfried are also executive producers.

McFadden's "The Housemaid" has been a massive success, dominating the bestseller lists for an extended period.

The novel has stayed on the New York Times bestseller list for over 75 weeks and continues to climb. On Amazon, it has been a fixture on the bestsellers list for an impressive 98 weeks.

The book's reach extends even further, with a staggering half-billion pages read on Kindle, making it the No. 2 most-read title in Kindle’s 10-year history, only behind "Harry Potter."

In an Instagram video, Sweeney is seen reading McFadden's "The Housemaid" as she writes, "Tell me about yourself, Millie #TheHousemaidMovie—coming soon!!"

McFadden commented on the post, expressing her excitement for the collab. "Dying of excitement!!!!!" she wrote.

Others flooded the comments section with nothing but praise. "I'm seated," one follower wrote. "The theater employees are scared and asking me to leave because it’s 'not even filmed yet' but I'm simply too seated."
