The 53-year-old made it clear during a recent episode of TLC's "Sister Wives" that she has no plans to spend Thanksgiving at Kody and Robyn's home.

"Robyn did reach out and ask if I wanted to go over there for Thanksgiving, and I'm not gonna do that. That's just weird," Meri explained in a confessional.

She shared that the family's patriarch had mentioned several times how her presence makes things awkward, preventing him from showing affection to Robyn.

According to In Touch, the decision comes after years of tension between the former couple. Not wanting to add to the discomfort, Meri stated:

"I'm not going to inhibit that. You know, I'm not a member of the family. I just really don't want to go be a third wheel at Robyn and Kody's house."

The 55-year-old also opened up about how Meri's presence altered the dynamic between him and his remaining wife. During a confessional in the latest "Sister Wives" episode, Kody revealed that while Meri joined him and Robyn for Thanksgiving last year, it was not without challenges.

The father-of-eighteen described the holiday as a "pleasant experience" but admitted that Robyn's behavior changed around his former wives, Janelle and Christine. Kody further explained:

"Robyn and I don't behave like a married couple when my other wives are around. So we weren't acting like a married couple with Meri in our presence. That's mostly on Robyn, to be fair. That's because Robyn is very sensitive to other people. She wants to be very careful about their feelings."

Meri Pushed For Divorce With Resistance From Kody

Meri's decision to skip holiday festivities with her former family comes as her push to finalize her divorce hit a roadblock. The Blast reported that the mother-of-one sought a church-sanctioned release from Kody, but the family patriarch resisted.

After months of growing tension, Meri was more than determined to end their spiritual "covenant" through their church, the Apostolic United Brethren.

She insisted that it is essential to dissolve the marriage completely since reconciliation is no longer on the table. "I don't want to be, like, sealed to him for eternity if he doesn't want me. I'm at a place that like, let's just separate this completely," Meri explained.

Despite her firm stance, Kody pushed back, refusing to acknowledge the church leaders' authority or discuss it with her. Frustrated by his reluctance, Meri said she was done waiting. "I'm moving forward with this," she declared, ready to take control of her future.

Kody also broke his silence on his split with Meri, revealing details about her decision to seek a divorce. In a candid moment on TLC's "Sister Wives," the TV personality shared:

"About eight weeks ago, Meri told me that she was going to go to Utah, meet with our church leaders, and basically request a divorce."

While Meri's move formalized the separation, Kody admitted he had already resigned himself to the fact that their relationship was beyond repair. "We're not going to reconcile no matter what," he stated.

Kody also voiced his growing frustration with their faith, dismissing the church's role in their divorce process. "I don't want to be accountable to this church and all their BS," he declared.

Kody's readiness to move on from his marriage to Meri has been evident for a while, but his blunt admission on the 2023 "Sister Wives: One on One Special" took things to a new level.

In the jaw-dropping segment, the star revealed that he no longer considered himself married to Meri, leaving fans—and Meri herself—shocked. After hearing this confession for the first time on TV, she expressed her disappointment, calling it "low and uncool."

The TV star reflected on the emotional distance that had grown between them long before their official split in January 2023, marking the end of their decades-long relationship.

Meri Brown's move further signals her growing distance from Kody and his remaining wife, Robyn, as she focuses on creating her own path separate from the polygamous family.
