Iman Shumpert is clearing the air about the relationship rumor mill!
The former NBA star has spoken out after whispers of a romance with Amber Rose began to swirl. In a candid chat, Shumpert made it clear that he and Rose are just friends, firmly denying any dating speculation.
The relationship gossip and denial is coming just about four months after the former NBA star reportedly finalized his messy divorce from Teyana Taylor, who accused him of diminishing their marital estate by over $3.7 million.
Iman Shumpert Clears The Air On Amber Rose Rumors
Even though sources previously shut down the idea of a romance, claiming the pair were nothing more than friends, it did not stop fans from wondering. The rumors had begun after the father-of-two was seen hanging out with the model in Miami last month.
So when TMZ Sports caught up with Shumpert in New York City, they asked him directly about the nature of his connection with Rose.
"We went to 'College Hill' together," Shumpert explained, downplaying the Miami sighting. He joked about how their friendship would not have raised eyebrows if not for the public's curiosity.
In his words, "Any other time, y'all would've just let us eat, but I get it." When pressed about whether there was anything romantic going on, the former athlete stood firm. "Nah, that's my peoples," he said, making it clear that their relationship is purely platonic.

While clearing the air on his relationship status, the 34-year-old turned his attention to his latest business venture. Speaking with TMZ, the TV personality expressed his excitement for fans to dive in on his new seven-part series, "Taking One for the Team," which will air on October 16.
When asked about the upcoming project, Shumpert enthusiastically encouraged viewers to "Binge watch the whole thing!" He also weighed in on Dwight Howard's current run on "Dancing With The Stars."
He expressed confidence in Howard's chances of winning, pointing out that he is paired with Daniella Karagach—someone Shumpert knows well, having won Dancing With the Stars in 2021 with her as his partner.
On a lighter note, the reality TV star playfully advised Howard to remember to smile during his performances.
The Athlete Was Accused Of Draining Marital Estate By $3.7 Million
Despite his jovial appearance, it has not been all smooth sailing for Shumpert. In April, The Blast obtained legal documents revealing that his ex-wife accused him of diminishing their marital estate by over $3.7 million.
The bombshell allegations came to light when Taylor filed an urgent motion for contempt against her estranged husband. The dancer claimed that Shumpert violated the court's automatic domestic standing order by taking out loans from their joint marital accounts.
Her legal team reportedly discovered the breach after reviewing investment account statements that Shumpert submitted on March 7, 2024.
Unable to determine if market forces were behind the losses, Taylor's counsel enlisted Mike Bean, a certified divorce financial analyst, to dig deeper into the financial discrepancies.
Teyana Taylor Accused Ex-Husband Of Tax Negligence
With their legal battle intensifying, the choreographer threw another serious accusation regarding Shumpert's handling of their marital property.
In her filing, Taylor claimed that the former New York Knicks player failed to pay the taxes on their Miami property, which were due on January 31, 2024. Despite being responsible for managing these payments, Shumpert allegedly neglected his duties.
The mother-of-two pointed out that Shumpert had consistently managed the real estate taxes for all their properties—until he suddenly made the "unilateral decision to stop paying."
Details Of Iman Shumpert's Alleged Withdrawals
The analyst, Mike Bean, investigated and revealed that Shumpert took a $44,000 loan from a Merrill Lynch account on December 7, 2023, followed by a second loan of $886,285 from another Merrill Lynch account the same year.
However, the withdrawals did not stop there. Shumpert allegedly took $878,760 from a marital Park Avenue account throughout 20 and a massive $1,883,899 loan against another Park Avenue account.
Additionally, a loan of $105,000 was drawn from a Mass Mutual Life insurance policy in 2023.
These transactions reportedly diminished the former couple's marital estate by $3,797,944 in total, with Taylor's legal team claiming that each of these withdrawals violated the court's standing order.
While Iman Shumpert does not need to give any explanation for pursuing a relationship after the end of his marriage, he is leaving no room for speculation.
