Tia Mowry Spills Intimate Tea About Her Former Marriage On New Reality Show

Actress Tia Mowry may be exploring the next chapter of her life on her new reality show, but reflection often involves looking back.

The "Sister Sister" alumna got personal on the latest episode of "Tia Mowry: My Next Act," looking back and reflecting on the aspects of life that brought her to the present.

The 1990s teen idol is no longer sharing the spotlight with her sister, Tamara; she is showing the world her side of the story. The "Seventeen Again" star is also no longer 17; the actress is also getting personal with her fans, revealing that her now ex-husband stole her heart, with Mowry soon losing her virginity.

The actress got real about spending her formative years as a married woman in the latest episode of 'My Next Act,' going into detail and sharing aspects she now looks back on and realizes could hurt her growth journey.

The "Family Reunion" actress has had someone by her side for the majority of her life. After rising to fame with Tamara alongside for the ride, Mowry quickly met and fell in love with Cory Hardrict in her early twenties.

"Tia Mowry: My Next Act" will show the world who Mowry is, unfiltered. She has been giving hints to her fans on Instagram, sharing glimpses of her post-divorce healing journey. In one particular post, the actress talks about "taking her power back" and embracing finding community in her supportive Instagram followers.

The reality star also candidly shared that single life is showing her a path to "experiencing what life is like on my own both personally and professionally."

She tells Essence Atkins, "You know, I never dated. Cory was my first... everything!" per Us Weekly.

"Everything" entails dishing on the intimate aspects of her private life, which cameras are privy to. The "A Black Lady Sketch Show" guest star got serious when detailing how young she was after falling in love with the eventual father of her children. Hardrict and Mowry share two children, a 13-year-old son, Cree, and a six-year-old daughter, Cairo.

Intimacy is incredibly personal and can be defined by couples however they want, never letting societal opinions get in the way. The former couple certainly did just that.

Reflecting on the timeline of their relationship, Mowry revealed in an interview with Ebony 11 years ago, "We were friends for a whole year before we decided to start dating. And even once we started dating, we waited," adding, "I lost my virginity at 25. So we even waited for a while to even get intimate." (via Us Weekly.)

Mowry shared in a recent episode of the show that she hadn't been dating for very long before meeting her ex five years before losing her virginity.

"I wasn't even allowed to date until I was 18 years old," she said. "I met Cory when I turned 20, and I lost my virginity at 25. There I said it," she quipped. "And then we got married! Boom!"

Mowry also got real about realizing her decisions related to chronicling her post-divorce life in the spotlight and online may not be always looked at favorably.

Like her aforementioned honest Instagram captions, Mowry also shares bits of insight she's learned during her journey with the public.

"[Waiting to be intimate] works for some people and it doesn’t work for some people and it’s OK. That’s what I mean by baggage,” she continued. “Know and learn and understand what baggage can you handle and what can you not handle," Mowry explained, per Us Weekly.

The sister duo are geographically apart from one another, but as Tia stresses, that doesn't mean she and Tamara have drifted apart, as previously reported by The Blast.

Despite Mowry's recent comments in a trailer for the show wherein she chats about wishing her sister was more accessible to her, matters are all good between the duo. After the internet suddenly wondered whether she and her "Sister Sister" counterpart were beefing, Mowry cleared the air.

"You could hear it from me, and this is basically what I was insinuating: I feel like as we grow up, we all start our own families and their children need to lean on them. We begin to take on new roles and responsibilities within our lives..." she began, adding, "In these transitions in life, sometimes you just want a hug and you just want someone to be as accessible as they used to be, and that's not the case. It's called life.."
