Former NFL running back Cedric Benson died in a motorcycle accident on Saturday night. The 36-year-old and a female passenger were both killed when they collided with a white minivan in Benson's home state of Texas.

Just hours before his death, Benson posted a photo on Instagram of his motorcycle with the caption "my Saturday evening."

There's no indication yet of exactly how the accident occurred, but new footage obtained by TMZ shows that Benson's motorcycle collided with the side of the minivan and then burst into flames.

TMZ reports that bystanders were seen running to the scene, and one person used a fire extinguisher on the flames.

The next year, he was drafted 5th overall by the Chicago Bears. He played eight NFL seasons, and was a 1,000-yard rusher for the Bengals three straight seasons from 2009-2011.
