Since news broke of Anna Delvey’s participation in "Dancing with the Stars"—where she was partnered with Ezra Sosa--there was a ton of buzz among fans and celebrities. Even "Dancing with the Stars" judge Derek Hough expressed curiosity about what Delvey would bring to the dance floor ahead of the season.

Her time on the show didn't last long, as on the September 24 episode of "Dancing with the Stars," the 33-year-old convicted con artist and her professional dance partner, Ezra Sosa, were eliminated from the competition.

After Anna Delvey was eliminated, host Julianne Hough asked her what she would take away from her time on the show, the 33-year-old responded candidly, "Nothing," leaving fans and Ezra Sosa seemingly speechless.

Sosa and Delvey may have exited the dance floor, but their friendship remains as vibrant as ever.

"We’re texting every day," he told the outlet. "Yes, we are. She’s like, ‘You have to come to New York!’ And I was like, ‘Do you miss me?’ She goes, ‘Sure.’ But every single time she says sure it means yes. Like, I kind of have her down a little bit."

Ezra Sosa Comments On Anna Delvey's Controversial 'Nothing' Comment

Sosa, who stepped up as a professional dancer this season, weighed in on Delvey's blunt remark regarding their elimination from the show.

As The Blast reported, when host Julianne Hough asked the 33-year-old convicted con artist what she was taking away from her experience, she simply replied with a single word: "Nothing."

At that moment, Sosa looked visibly surprised, raising his eyebrows in disbelief. However, he later told People Magazine that he found Delvey's reaction to be "iconic." He noted that he could sense his dance partner's frustration when their names were not called as "safe" from elimination.

Delvey was taken aback by her early exit from "Dancing with the Stars," particularly after receiving abundant encouragement and praise during the show's initial episodes.

“I thought, like, ‘Well, they were building me up.’ It’s like, ‘Well, only if you smile more, only if you do X, Y, Z, it’s going to be so much better,’” she told fellow "DWTS" contestant Tori Spelling on her “Misspelling” podcast.

“It felt like they put so much effort in trying to get me on the show and make me feel comfortable, just to eliminate me this early," she added. "I see it, yeah, like an attempt of an embarrassment for us to get eliminated before Eric [Roberts] or Reginald [VelJohnson] in a dancing competition. Even though in the end it’s not that big of a deal.”

Delvey, who hails from Russia, rose to notoriety for pretending to be a wealthy New York City socialite, successfully infiltrating elite social circles. In 2019, her intricate web of deceit ultimately unraveled, leading to her conviction for theft and grand larceny.

Due to her past, many weren't happy with the ABC competition show after they cast Delvey as part of Season 33's cast.

The fans let their voices be known as the ex-convict was eliminated after just two dances.

The 33-year-old said she had envisioned her time on "Dancing with the Stars" as a second chance to reveal her true self to the world, but unfortunately, that did not pan out.

“It just felt a bit upsetting to me,” Delvey said. “It felt like a waste of time for me to do all this for them to just discard me so easily. I know the show was very excited to have me on, but the large part of the audience is not the people who would usually be excited about me in general.”

“I never had high expectations for [the] show for myself," she added.

"Dancing with the Stars" is broadcast on ABC and Disney+ every Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET.
