Broadway star Jeremy Jordan, known for his performance in Disney's "Newsies," has publicly shared his political views, endorsing Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.
Currently starring as Jay Gatsby in the new Broadway adaptation of "The Great Gatsby," Jordan posted a selfie on social media in front of a Harris/Walz political sign, announcing his intention to vote for the Democratic Party in the upcoming election.
Jeremy Jordan's endorsement comes just weeks after pop icon Taylor Swift revealed her support for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz as well.
Jeremy Jordan Announces Endorsement For Kamala Harris
On Saturday, October 5, Jeremy Jordan took to social media to reveal his vote for the upcoming election.
"Ok friends. One month from today, we decide the future of our country," he began in his lengthy Instagram post. "For me, the decision is crystal clear."
"I'm voting for the rights of all my beautiful LGTBQ+ friends and family," he continued before announcing his vote will be going to Kamala Harris. "I'm voting for the rights of women to be able to make choices about their own damn bodies. I'm voting for just plain human decency. I'm voting for strength measured by compassion instead of cruelty."
As Vice President, Harris has consistently condemned anti-LGBTQ+ legislation in the U.S., including bans on gender-affirming care for young people and "don't say gay" laws that prohibit discussions about sexuality or gender identity in schools.
"I'm voting for the sake of our fragile environment and for sustainable energy. I'm voting to teach our children true, unfiltered American history and access to quality education for every child," Jordan continued in his Instagram post. "I'm voting for the equal rights of all people of color. I am voting for keeping health care available for everyone."

In addition to Kamala Harris, Jeremy Jordan said he will be voting for Mikie Sherrill, who is vying for the GOP nomination to take on Democratic U.S. Rep. Mikie Sherrill in a North Jersey district.
"What a JOY to be voting for these incredible WOMEN," Jordan added. "I am proud to give Kamala Harris and Mikie Sherrill (gotta rep Jersey, y'all) my FULL support and endorsement."
Posing in front of the two political signs in the yard, Jordan wrote, "My front lawn never looked better."
Jeremy Jordan Continues To Be Outspoken About Politics
Jeremy Jordan has been vocal about his political views, especially in recent years. He has expressed support for progressive policies and Democratic candidates, most notably endorsing Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.
Jordan has used his social media platforms to advocate for issues he cares about, including voting rights, social justice, and environmental protection.
"Kamala Harris believes in equal justice under the law, and that means proper, complicated, equal justice under the law. It is not to be debated,” Tim Walz said of his running mate, per NBC News. “It’s not that difficult.”
Walz also highlighted a series of Harris's accomplishments regarding LGBTQ issues, recalling an incident when she served as attorney general of California and had to personally intervene by calling a Los Angeles clerk who was refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
“‘You must start the marriages immediately,’” Harris told the clerk, according to Walz. “She had the best line then. She told the clerk, ‘Have a good day. It’s going to be a fun one.’”
Kamala Harris Fights For LGBTQ Rights
The Biden-Harris administration directed federal agencies to safeguard LGBTQ individuals from discrimination by ensuring that the Supreme Court's landmark ruling in Bostock v. Clayton County, established that the Civil Rights Act of 1964 protects employees from discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
“The Biden-Harris administration has a strong record of protecting and expanding the freedom of LGBTQ people at a time when those freedoms have faced an unprecedented assault," James Esseks, co-director of the ACLU’s LGBTQ & HIV Project, said. "With further attacks on our rights and a landmark Supreme Court case on the horizon, we would encourage a Harris-Walz administration to continue this commitment and do everything in their power to protect our rights, our health care, and our freedom to be ourselves without fear.”
Kamala Harris also supported the Respect for Marriage Act, which was passed in 2022 to guarantee that all states recognize same-sex marriages.
